DRACU-RIOT!

Mediocre. About 60% romance and only 40% story...should've been the opposite, the lore had a good premise. And generally I wish there was an interconnecting story if that makes sense, one with all heroines. I picked Elena's, the Russian was a bit more on the kawaii to cringe scale, but it was tolerable. My first ending was the solo route. Replayability is also more of an eh..you know there aren't any 'secrets', if anything it feels like go with the one you find most interesting. It wasn't as emotional and some parts could've been fleshed out more instead of going back to 'joyful' music as soon as it starts to get serious. A 6 is a good score, intriguing in the sense that it keeps you thinking about what will happen, but delivery wise it underperforms. Perhaps I should go back to reading 'Mostly Positive' and lower novels, maybe VP-OWP rated novels are hitting everyone's notes but my own. I need a sense of not in face of danger laugh and siliently say yeah protag is cooked, but instead seriously worry and actually think that they're not coming out of it alive. Story is average at best boring at worst, vanilla sex scenes, a bit of humour but way overplays the gay doctor, none of the characters are particularly interesting, music is ok mostly but the saxophone track gets annoying, generic overall probably would have been decent if it came out 10 years earlier like it was supposed to. If you're new to visual novels you could enjoy this but if you've played a few dozen already this will likely be worse.

Peak Yuzusoft. Dracu-Riot is their most plot-heavy moege to this date. Out of all the 4 main heroine routes all were at least 9/10. Girls ranking: Elina>Miu>Nicola>Azusa>Rio Routes ranking: Rio>Azusa>Elina>Miu>Nicola Recommended route order: Miu->Elina->Rio->Azusa (with NIcola whenever in-between) Overall the best old Yuzusoft had to offer and probably their most consistently good VN. Sanoba Witch has higher highs with Meguru's and especially Nene's routes, while Cafe Stella remains my personal favourite, but Dracu-Riot definitely stands among them as one of their best. 10/10, I strongly recommend.

3/5, weak recommend. I wanted to like it more than I did since I was in the crowd that waited 10 years for this to release. I only really had any fun in Elina's route. The setting is the most interesting part, but as typical for YUZUSOFT titles they play it fairly light and focus on the romance. Better than any of their other titles I've played, but that's not saying much. I will say playing at 1440p was so freaking awesome. I felt spoiled. After considering everything else, this is the reason why this review is recommended. Humor a big part of this experience, I'd say they do an O-K job of it. Except when they don't, reusing the same gag with the doctor literally every scene he shows up is so annoying. Scenario writing is pretty whatever, it sets up some cool stuff in some routes and then ends up either playing things straight or dropping the ball, either ways ends up anti-climatic just to resolve the plot to focus on romance. There are one or two major twists scattered in the routes, but its not that exciting. Just about all the other writing in this VN is average to boring. R18 scenes are vanilla and fun but all way too long. YUZUSOFT has a bad habit of this. Route rating…
