About Mills of Morris
Mills of Morris takes you on a puzzle adventure, where storytelling is just as relevant as progression. Explore the Meadow of Riddles and find out why Morris is so eager to become a human, throwing his frog life away.
Every puzzle you’re seeing relies on the core rules of the antique gem, Nine men’s morris. Originally, it is supposed to be a two-player board game, but Morris was tasked to create so-called “mills” of disks that share a color.
On top of the inspiration concept’s mechanics, you’ll find yourself facing a rich set of assets, creating challenging scenarios!
Morris - just like most of us - cannot solve the toughest puzzle with elements he hasn’t even seen yet. Levels are progressively designed with growing complexity, while leaving room for guided and freefall learning.
Morris, if he so likes, is allowed to free roam across the Meadow, the game’s Hub. Of course, if he doesn’t solve all the tasks, the wizard won’t grant his wish! However, he may follow an order of levels he prefers, or revisit some later.
Frogs can’t read, right? But frogs can interpret visuals. The world focuses on guiding your journey without much text, letting the world speak for itself.
Step into the shoes of the Wizard and create your own levels using the Level Creator tool! Every single asset is available at your disposal - it’s time to get creative!
You may upload the levels you create, and let the entire world play them! The leaderboards display completions with the best times and the least amount of moves. Get to the top and show others what you’re capable of!

How'd this one slip under the radar? It's pretty good! It's an interesting variation on the usual sokoban puzzle. Instead of the usual grids that are common, this has a board with various nodes on it. You can jump between these nodes if they are linked by a path. If there is no path between two adjacent nodes, you'll have to find another way to get there. The goal is to line up marbles of the same color next to each other on three connected nodes. This will unlock a gate allowing you a new path, usually to a level exit or to a previously blocked off part of the level to match another set of marbles together. It sounds simple but it quickly becomes complicated. You wouldn't think the node-based levels would change too much for this style of game but you'll quickly realize there are a lot more corners and edges to contend with. Often times when I was planning out my path, I kept catching myself trying to use a route where a marble would end up stuck in a corner, being unable to be pushed from any side. It also seems to add new tricks to the puzzles as you move on as well. About an hour into my playtime last night, I ended up being introduced to a new mechanic involving a …3 found this helpful
Step into the magical world of Mills of Morris, a unique match 3 puzzle adventure published by Nedermann Zsolt. Inspired by the classic Nine Men's Morris, this charming tale follows a determined frog that's eager to become human. As players navigate through the Meadow of Riddles, they'll discover a non-linear storyline where exploration and puzzle-solving go hand in hand. The gameplay mechanics evolve gradually, building upon the core rules of its inspiration while introducing new elements to create increasingly complex challenges. Players will appreciate the game's step-by-step approach, which fosters both guided and freefall learning. This puzzle adventure boasts a visually stunning experience, allowing the breathtaking environment to tell the story without relying heavily on text. Players can explore the world freely, taking on tasks in their preferred order, all while working to uncover the truth behind Morris's unusual quest. One noteworthy feature is the ability to undo all of your previous moves ensuring players can correct any mistakes without needing to restart the level. While the game doesn't feature in-game music, there's still a volume control for it. The built-in …3 found this helpful
