About Frontline Crisis

Features:
· Simplified RTS + Tribute to Classics
· Deep Strategy and Independent Controls
· Unique Boss Fights
❤️Local Co-op

As a die-hard RTS fan, I know the complex controls can be daunting for some players. That's why I aimed to create an RTS game that's easy to control yet rich in strategy and action. Here, you control just one mech. It can walk, shoot, kill insects, gather resources, build, and summon. This game is my passion project, and I hope to share that passion with more players.

Pre-Battle Phase: Strategize and set up your defenses at your own pace.
Combat Phase: Execute your strategy and unleash your firepower.

Whether it's resource gathering, base building, or attacking, this game keeps you thinking and acting.

This isn't a Roguelike game. It progresses through levels, each ending with a unique boss fight. Defeat the boss to unlock new items and expand your build options. I'm not a fan of reading long descriptions, so I've simplified each module for easy understanding.

Plus, you can team up with a friend to fight off relentless alien swarms! One player handles ground forces, the other takes to the skies, complementing each other.

In the distant future, humanity faces an unprecedented energy crisis. A new energy source, "Force", discovered in outer space, becomes a coveted treasure. The battle for "Force" leads to a prolonged war between humans and vicious alien swarms. In the war’s final stages, both sides have mastered each other’s genetic sequences, creating many half-human, half-alien warriors. On the battlefield, we might see our mutated former comrades. War devours countless lives, and we seem to have forgotten who our real enemy is.

TL:DR; An interesting mix of base building and tower defence twisted around just enough to feel quite fresh. Also a smattering of odd design choices. I liked how it felt as if there is not just one objectively correct way to win every level. You can build up a fortress of a base, fill it up with a battery of turrets, juice up your spider-tank or crank out drones and other minions to tackle the bugs. Victory is often achieved best with a mix of all these, but the option is appreciated. I feel like there could be a more elegant system for the in-level currency used to build your base. As-is you collect your starting material, whatever bonus stuff you dig up, and whatever your mining tiles dig up for you, then basically ignore it for the rest of the level unless you're going hard into temporary weapon upgrades for your tank. I've never ran low outside of building in a bad order at level start past the 2nd Area, and if I'm doing badly enough to have to rebuild my base I may as well just restart the level with a better initial line-up. The visuals give me a feeling of a well-liked but obscure game imported from japan in the late 90's, complete with gratuitous naked waifish cyber-wome…

Amazing, unique and fun game. Early-game and mid-game are easy but there is a sudden difficulty spike close to end-game, oh and the last boss? Very hard to beat alone and even harder if you are not using brain. That N̴i̴g̵h̷t̷m̸a̵r̶e̸ was a real N̸͔̑i̵̽ͅg̵̤͆h̷͍̕t̴̡̒m̴̤̏a̷̦͘r̷̮̿è̶̳ but overall i had great fun playing this fun little indie game. Definitely worth the price.

A cute mix of shoote-em-up and base planner. Reminds me of Protolife. The English localization is so bad its good :D

Reminds me a bit of X-Morph, where there are tower defense elements and a player controlled hero and both are fairly underpowered so you have to use both to survive, but also neither ever really feels adequate for the task. There are some other unnecessary hurdles thrown in like the fog of war that requires light towers so you can see what you're doing or limits on the upgrade towers for the mech to force you to use the other types of towers. You also have to clear creep in order to place a building or hunt for objectives, but that causes the level to progress faster. It's tough to find that comfort zone where you feel you're actually commanding the field instead of just barely keeping up. There's a good game here and It's worth a try, but it's an acquired taste.

Kinda basic game in terms of shooting, the special weapons don't give much info on their stats, but then again by lategame that doesn't matter as you're just using the area-clear moves constantly as long as you can afford it. Any sense of balance or progression is thrown out the window by the hidden upgrades, which if you have certain ones: you win, if you don't, you lose. Up to the final 2 levels where the enemy spam reaches a point where it's no longer a question of good strategy, it's just "did you build materials fast enough, and are you using the most OP area-clearers hard enough?" I just can't get into the "rebuild everything on every map" setup as it makes it a slog to start over and over again on top of the poor design, with a few lategame effects that let you build multiple things at once, but it just isn't enough. It's a small dev and the parts he gets right are decent, I initially marked this as negative but after (finally) beating the last boss he gave quite a heartfelt "I know it's not the best but please give feedback" and... eh. I can understand the feeling of struggling with balance. If there was a middle ground rating I'd give it, but I will reluctantly chang…
