Fire and Steel

I'm thinking too much about a $7 game, but as a dragon lover in world where games you can play as a dragon are scarce, here goes. The game is a fun idea in concept, it's like a middle schooler's doodles made into a video game. Attacking Normandy as a dragon was pretty cool. However, there are a ton of quality of life things that just aren't there. There are no mid-level checkpoints. If you die, back to the beginning. Real fun when you die to the last enemy of the last wave. You only have 4 shots of your secondary fire weapon, and there are no pickups that could give you more. This is an incrediblely strange design decision. Your dragon has two speeds, hovering, and flying. There is no dash or "sprint". You can't fly faster than a train... There is no 180 degree, check-your-tail, view like every flying combat game has these days. I died quite a bit due to not being able to see these kamikaze zeppelins. Other reviewers mention needing a beefy system to run this game, I myself ran into a few lag spikes. Considering that the games graphics are frankly PS4 level, this shouldn't be the case.

Ya know. Ya definitely get what ya pay for. Not a bad $7 game. Also, some of the cutscene 'stills' go so hard

Short but fun. It's a simple concept of "Wouldn't adding x to y be cool!" but it's actually executed well. Controls work well with keyboard and mouse. I like the propaganda newspapers in-between levels.

Was abandoned by the dev the moment it was approved for public achievements. Cool idea, but clunky execution. Extremely short game that starts but does not finish a storyline. Possibly worth the time of a bored dragon fanatic while on sale.

Bonkers and silly. A few of the levels felt obtusely hard for absolutely no reason, but overall it was a good play.

This game is very rough around the edges. Doesn't even look good for the time it was made in. Quite a few jank and soldier just hilariously fling around like bowling pin in a strike animation. But damn if it isn't fun just burning down planes and ship with your fire breath. Game does a great job at emulating of whats its like to be a destructive fantasy dragon. Unfortunately there isn't much other dragon games that can let you experience that level of destruction, so this I'll take what I can get.
