Huygens Principle

Huygens Principle is a very badly made 2D retro pixel top down twin stick shooter/brawler with some simple gimmick, your character and abilities change to the thing you just killed. That's all there is to it. It was slapped together with the craptastic Cocos2D engine, giving GameMaker Studio a run for it's money for worst video game engine in the world. The game has you running around shooting/bashing enemies with guns, baseball bats etc, there's no real cohesive or interesting plot or motivation to actually play the game. Think of it as a lame ripoff of Hotline Miami but with even worse graphics and gameplay. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution is locked and can't be changed, and there's no visual or graphics tweaks, so there's no way to improve the very lazy, mediocre visuals. I like the game, it's fun to play

A suprisingly good game. My friends had recommended it to me, because they played it a couple years earlier and I wanted to see if it holds up, and it does :)

[h1]Before I played Huygens Principle, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good[/h1]

A fun, fast-paced time-waster reminiscent of Stick Arena or something you'd find on Newgrounds. My friend complained that the window couldn't be resized but there's always fullscreen mode. When I launched the game I think the sound and music were disabled by default which was odd...for a minute I thought the game just had no audio.
