Throughout your journey in Rumbral, you'll come across strange magenta puddles that allow you to travel to another reality. Shift between these parallel worlds to influence both and find your way forward.You wake up in a dark, mysterious forest with no memory of who you are or why you're there. Good aesthetics, reminds me of inside and Toby secret mines. For the price, it needs to be alot longer, just as you're getting into it, it finishes, and the ending is underwhelming.3 found this helpful
This is a fun Little Nightmares-esq sidescroller. At times the controls were mildly too mechanical, the main character's movement was a little too robotic, and even less often the items in the game didn't do what they were supposed to be. But those are about the only real critiques I have and none of them even came close to being a deal breaker. Overall this is a very entertaining, beautiful ride. I'm a little surprised it hasn't sold better. But I think at some point in the future, this will land on a "Games You Missed" video. I picked it up on the Steam Summer sale 2026 for $9. Ehh..$13 for a game that you can finish in less than an hour that has little to no replay value? I'm not sure what I was thinking. I liked the demo. I think I was hoping for more than what this is. The story is mostly hidden behind things you'll need to find, which are also very often hidden. Depending on how many of these things you find will determine how much of the story you get. I guess this would be incentive to replay chapters and stuff, but after that sudden ending I just went through? How could I possibly be bothered to try to find bits of the story I missed, knowing the ending is disappointing like a wet soggy sandwich. The platforming is decent. It's very much a game about pushing blocks, jumping in magenta pools, tossing rocks at buttons, and going from left to right in a world that feels dead.. Aside from the weird Elk creatures. And... man.. that's easily some of the worst stealth gameplay I've ever seen. There are a few opportunities for you to block your own progress if you put boxes in specific places and then spawn behind them via the magenta pools. Did it a couple of times in the level prior to the elks. The box got wedged into the fallen logs and I …
