About LIO
Lio was just a regular college student, until one day he found himself in a twisted alternative reality without any memories.Break the fourth wall and collaborate with him to find out his story.
With almost 2 years of active development on his back, "LIO" aims to stand out as unique experience by using multiple artstyles and forms of gameplay.Play and solve riddles across full 3D and isometric-2D sequences, all while uncovering Lio's story across 2D-pixel art and 3D cutscenes.
Along with multiple ways of exploring the videogame medium, "LIO" also puts together the work of 11 different musical and SFX artists, while also featuring 3 vocal perfomances. The soundtrack will surely get you caught in a unique atmosphere.
Reaching "the end" means nothing, or pehaps it does? With two main endings and 3 small sub-endings, those with an high enough attention span will be able to play from 3 to 6 hours before the full story is unravelled. (Not including the easter eggs... hehehehe).
"LIO" is a completely free game developed by a single person with the only intent of sharing passion for this incredible entertainment medium we all love and to celebrate creative endeavor without caring too much about nowadays standards. It's simple, very authorial and without too many premises, but i still hope you'll love it as much as i do!

✦ AI summary
Players praise LIO's artistic ambitions, calm atmosphere, and thoughtful themes dealing with personal loss, noting it's free-to-play and offers introspective storytelling. However, they consistently criticize the game for being poorly explained, featuring unskippable cutscenes that double as levels, lacking proper PC optimization, going years without patches despite critical bugs, and containing what some perceive as mocking or condescending design choices that undermine the developer's stated intent.
The Game of The Play
LIO is a free-to-play game, and as all other reviews say, the game is broken and in need of a fix, which the dev won’t do. The first two levels are just the screen with some sort of image changing slowly, and you can’t exit it by pressing ESC or anything after watching it one time already. So, if you press it again, you need to see the whole thing again. And then we have the third level, "Principle,” which is the first puzzle stage; the explanation isn’t the most perfect, and the level is broken overall, causing a blockage of proceeding with the game at all. Like other reviews say, which I can relate to and also agree with is the clunky controls. The developer noted that it's recommended to play on a mouse and keyboard, but for the first puzzle (which doesn’t work), all the playe…39 found this helpful
POST REVIEW EDIT Latest update has addressed these concerns and the developer even removed the insulting achievement. I unfortunately have already lost faith in the game and won't be trying it again even after the changes. I understand this project has a personal meaning to the developer, but poor taste in understanding your market you are releasing to does not give you a pass on what you thought would be taking tongue-in-cheek kind of humor. My review stands, but I welcome others to try it to make your own decision. ORIGINAL REVIEW Just NO. There is even a freaking steam achievement you get because you cannot complete a single level and quit the game. Is it supposed to be mocking us to try again or be some attempt at humor? Nope. Just shows the developer is brain dead to the world and how things work outside of their visionary bubble. Want people to play your game or artist experience or whatever you want to call this? Don't "adapt from mobile" with a crappy control scheme and expect people to put any time into it. Let me explain: "Adapted from Mobile" as it says in the control settings. Horrible implementation of controls. In the opening sequence it tells you, H…2 found this helpful
I really did not want to dislike this game, it seems so cool. It has a cool art style, a seemingly simple story and puzzles, and it was made in memory of someone who passed... But I really can't like this game. Cutscenes have no way of skipping, which I am usually okay with, but the cutscenes are also levels, meaning that you can accidentally click on a cutscene and be forced to either sit through it, or close the game and reopen it. The first proper level, which I did beat after a lot of trial and error as well as get help from some reviews, was honestly really confusing. The level is actually pretty simple when you understand it, but the game did not help explain how the system even worked. It gave some vague stuff, but the main thing is that it didn't explain that the level isn't what it seems, some parts are actually angled and positioned differently on the axis, making it so you have to get to a specific point to drop down onto a lower part, while parts that seem like a simple walk or drop is actually far off and you fall to your death. I don't know what the later levels are like, they seem to change it up with proper 3D environments, but that first level just left such a bad …1 found this helpful
Overly pretentious, condescending, but worst of all, hypocritical. The author marks this as work of "art " but does not even bother porting it over to PC properly.1 found this helpful
its a free to play game... Been over a year without a patch at the time of me writing this review. Hopefully something comes soon.
This game talks about very personal themes, you can see immediately that it is not a game for its own sake but tells and digs into the author's life, if you like introspective games, which require you to take a moment away from your routine and a minimum of concentration try it, by the way it is also free.
