Developed by Upstream Arcade, Hellboy Web of Wyrd utilizes an art style faithful to Mike Mignola’s original masterpieces. Like in the comics, the game sends Hellboy on a series of vastly different and wholly-unique adventures; and while each story stands on its own, they are all tied to the mysterious legacy of The Butterfly House.
Built in 1962 by occultist Pasquale Deneveaux, The Butterfly House is more than a mere residence; it’s a gateway. Built upon occult ley-energies, its strange angles and non-Euclidean geometries were designed with a singular foul purpose in mind: to open doorways into a terrible and fascinating dimension called The Wyrd.
Go toe-to-toe (or hoof-to-hoof) with a menagerie of nightmarish creatures and homunculi as you explore the realms within the Wyrd. This is not a good game. The biggest flaw it has is simple: Combat is awful. It wants to be some sort of hybrid between Punch-Out (weaving, ducking, blocking, parrying, all with enemy tells) and a beat-em-up. However, it's hampered by a few factors. For one, the camera is just unadulturated ass. It constantly hovers behind you close enough to make the game claustrophobic. Because of this, you can't properly judge where enemies are, especially when you're fighting multiple enemies at once. For another, you can't cancel moves into blocks, so when you commit to a move you better hope the enemy doesn't decide to do something else. The basic structure of the game is also flawed. It wants to be the world's simplest Rogue-Lite, with levels based around dying and repeating while obtaining temporary buffs and getting currency to buy permanent upgrades. The issues are two fold. The more important of the two is this makes the game incredibly samey. Every world boils down to the same thing with different coats of paint. The less important issue is that the upgrades just don't do enough to make the game easier or different. You're functionally doing the same thing over and over, with …2 found this helpful

I really like this composition in the game. Feels like playing a Hellboy comic, but also reminds me of early Walking Dead games.
The art style is spot-on with the comics and the voice acting is pretty good. I believe this is a unique storyline so if you're a fan of Hellboy it's definitely worth checking out for that as well.
Very Short game, and very simple but I think it does not overstay its welcome, I think it goes on for the perfect length. I think any Hellboy fan will love this game, and that it has a story that's easy for non-fans to follow. I love how it looks like its ripped straight from the comics as well, i think this game is worth your time
