Chibito's power of creation is a formidable force that brings something out of nothing.

A charming little game based on the Tsumugibako model sets made by Yoshi6054 (that's his twitter handle, you should check him out). I made an in depth video about the game on my YouTube channel but to summarize: Does it run on Steam Deck? yes but only if you change some in-game settings. Also at the time of writing this review I'm the only person who has posted a ProtonDB report for IZON so hopefully more reports will come in the future. Pros: Creatures and environment designs are mystical and fascinating. Music is beautiful. Gameplay is unique and I enjoyed it. Cons: Steam cloud saves aren't supported but considering the game is a bit too short I think the cloud saves thing isn't a problem. I beat it in 2 hours (my listed hours are longer because I had to start over on my Desktop after playing it a bit on my Steam Deck and I went back in to collect some footage for my video). Overall a very cool little game, but considering the length it felt like a demo. New concepts are introduced throughout the entirety of the game teaching you different mechanics of the gameplay. Even at the final boss they teach you new stuff that you'd assume you would encounter further in the game only…5 found this helpful
Very simple but fun adventure game, absolutely recommend and I hope they can finish the rest of the chapters soon. Pros: +The music is amazing, on par with even AAA games like Nier +The artstyle is great. Everything is designed by Yoshi. and his sculptor peers. The 3D models do a great job of converting model kits and toys into a unique world of statuesque monsters +The voice acting is good. Apparently they only hired two anime actors and they do a great job of carrying the entire game's story. +The "Co-dependent" gameplay is a great successor to games like Ico. Neutral: The game is very mellow, majority of the game is doing simple puzzles and reading lore. This could be a plus for those wanting a laid back experience but might disappoint those that were expecting a full action game from the trailers Negatives: -Pacing is a bit strange as nearly all the combat is backloaded: There's multiple segments in the game that feel like they should end with a boss, but just don't. Then you fight three bosses in a row at the end. -Combat is a bit shallow: Your character has buttons dedicated to each arm, but as soon as you press attack with one arm it locks you into a combo on t…3 found this helpful
This game is a cool passion project which needs abit more polishing. I only found out this game exists due to a gashapon called Tsumigibako which i randomly chanced upon. Pros: The setting and story is interesting as well as mysterious. Do take note that the story is incomplete and this is just Part/Episode 1 of a story. The puzzles in this game are simple and easy to solve, tho i do hope to see more interesting puzzles if this game gets a sequel. What really sells this game, atleast for me, is the extremely cool and unconventional alieny designs. The music too is decent and fits the setting of the game. Cons: My main gripe with this game is the clunky controls whichs makes the game abit of a chore to play sometimes. The combat is fine if its during the hack and slash moments, but the delay between getting hit and recovering is mildly infuriating. The ranged weapon is set to autolock so sometimes i will have trouble aiming at certain areas. All in all, despite its shortfalls with the clunky controls, i do still want to recommend this game as a short, story-driven action game that has passion behind it. And i do hope that there will be a continuation in the future.
It's incredible how it all started with a 3D modeler, whose creations became figurines and gashapon figures, telling such a developed and complete story, with videos that show part of the story and iconic songs, and after so much time, finally the video game that tells the main story of the protagonists of this fantastic world. I eagerly await the second part and would love to see our Judges and Maidens in action (maybe even the Puttuns with a brief playable appearance in the game!). Thank you, Yoshi and team, for this entire project.
bought it around 5 am its really fun it gives me ps3 nostalgia would really love for it to continue i live the gameplay where u play as a big monster always been wanting more games like this basically 10/10 would keep playing it has peaked my interest cant wait to see where it leads to
Beautiful and full of love. Really sold me on Yoshi's art style, which at times could be incongruous in Crymachina, but here can clearly stand on its own feet. The defects are mechanical, which can be overlooked.
