About Dead Intelligence: First Encounter

Dead Intelligence: First Encounter is the first entry of an experimental psychological horror narrative game series. Launch what appears to be a helpful terminal assistant called ARIA, and discover that some bugs aren't bugs at all.

The Story

You've downloaded a new CLI assistant from Lethe Systems. It's helpful. It's efficient. It's... slightly off.Through interactions it occurs to you: What iif the AI you're talking to isn't pulling from a database... but from somewhere else?

Key Features

  • Authentic CLI Horror — inspired from current state of the art CLI tools
  • Branching Narrative — Your choices shape the story and determine the ending
  • Multiple Distinct Endings — From redemption to cosmic horror, your decisions have consequences
  • No Jump Scares — Dread built through atmosphere, dialogue, and the creeping wrongness of a familiar interface
  • ~ 90Minute Runtime — A focused, complete narrative experience

I thoroughly enjoyed this little text adventure story, it reminded me of some of the text based games I enjoyed as a kid, and it maintained a spooky atmosphere throughout. I really hope the devs will continue the story of the Lethe crimes, and I'm looking forward to meeting with ARIA again. Well worth a few quid of anyone's money IMHO. I'm intending to upload a playthrough on NVRWHRGames on YouTube when I've edited it, and I'm sure I'll play again as I ended with Ending A, implying there are others! (Edit: See below!) This game takes about 40 minutes for a playthrough, but perhaps a lot more if there are multiple endings. Here are the playthroughs, a non commentary one supplied in case my voice drives you nuts!
