About The Will of Arthur Flabbington

Bad news: your uncle died, and left you nothing in his will.
Good news: the will mentions a mysterious treasure.
Bad news: only two people can recover the treasure, and you're not one of them.
Good news: these two people don't want to recover it.
Bad news: they hate each other and won't collaborate.
It seems like you have to move on and forget about the inheritance. Unless you're Jack Flabbington, and resort to a psychic to contact your uncle's spirit. It will be easy, right? It's not like you'll end up bound to a random ghost until you find the treasure yourself, right?

The Will of Arthur Flabbington is a comedy point-and-click adventure game where you're desperately trying to find your uncle's lost treasure with the help of a reluctant sidekick. Will you be able to set aside your differences and collaborate towards your common goal?

✦ AI summary

Players consistently praise the game's humor, charming character interactions, retro point-and-click presentation, and entertaining story that appeals to classic adventure game fans. The main complaint centers on puzzle logic, with several players noting that some puzzles feel absurdly complex or rely on unintuitive solutions that don't follow clear in-game reasoning, occasionally requiring walkthroughs to progress.

A number of reviews here complain about moon logic. In my experience, that can mean anything from "I'm not good at adventure games" to "this game uses moon logic." To assist you in drawing your own conclusion on the matter, I will provide an example drawn from the first five minutes of gameplay. There is an incense burner that must be lit. 20 metres away, there is a burning candle. Those of you with experience using basic reasoning to complete simple tasks in your everyday life may believe the solution to this conundrum is obvious. But oh, you overestimate yourselves. For you see, while you may throw caution to the wind and brave the mortal danger of a naked flame, the main character complains that he cannot pick up the candle because it is too close to his crotch. To take a safety-first approach, the actual solution to this puzzle is to singe the corner of a magazine and use a hand fan on it every two seconds to keep the flame alive while you carry it to the burner. I attempted to educate the arson assessor from my home and contents insurance company on this commonsense methodology, but after a long, quizzical stare, he only responded "Are you daft?" I will be staying with famil…

A nice point and click adventure. Old school with a lot of humor. I really enjoyed the final puzzle. We had it coming...

Overall, very well made game. Good puzzles with seemingly just the right amount of difficulty. Interesting and unique characters. Personally, I am a Christian and thought some of the jabs against the faith were too much, like saying the Word of our Lord should be used as a doorstop. So after a few of those I stopped playing. But no doubt i imagine the rest of the game to be just as good as first parts I played.

Very fun game. Easy play mechanics, interesting plot, tough but fairly logical puzzles
