The Adventures of Nick & Willikins

"The Adventures of Nick & Willikins" is a small and pointless murder mystery borrowing thematically from P.G. Wodehouse where you take on the role of a butler and click around a mildly comical mansion to solve a murder mystery. It wasn't particularly successful. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily me…

I am surprised how much funny this silly point and click game is , the humour is actually amusing and the game, although short is definately worth playing. Not a lot I can say other than it's a game that amuses and if you like point and click games, you will enjoy it and amazingly it's free

Not being able to click to advance dialogue line by line is a dealbreaker, regardless of the game being free and regardless of how good the rest of the game might be.

A short but interesting point and click game. It has tons of references and jokes (puns). I also like the art style of the game and the animations. It kinda reminds me of a mix of Nelly cootalot the fowl fleet game and Joel haver's videos. (Im not sure if the developers took any inspiration by any of these, I know they ain't the exact same thing). I enjoyed the overall game, I really love exploring (a bit of exploring shall I say) Nick's mansion. Also poor Wilikins....he was just trying to do his job. Personally I recommend this game to anyone who likes point and click games but I have to point out as I said before that the game is short. I wonder if there is gonna be a sequel of this game?
