Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss

They need to fix this game and quit releasing unfinished junk and using players a beta testers. Shame on them and STEAM for selling this junk.

I really enjoyed this from start to finish. The environments were probably my favorite part. Each chapter has these huge, atmospheric locations that make the whole thing feel very cinematic, which worked really well with the Lovecraft/Cthulhu setting. It is a game that expects you to read a lot, pay attention and actually think about what you’re doing. There’s plenty of investigating, connecting information and working things out through the mind map. I liked that overall, although sometimes the game felt a little too vague about what it actually wanted from me. You often know that a choice matters, but not always what the better or worse option actually is. Maybe I’m just bad at this kind of puzzle game, but towards the end I did have to use a guide a few times because it became a bit too much for my taste. Still, I was entertained the whole way through. I only ran into two bugs that forced me back to the menu to reload, but nothing serious enough to ruin the experience. Recommended. A first-person Lovecraftian investigation that turns morality into a mechanical choice on a clue board, and the dual-resolution deductions carry it through despite inputs that stop working at random. Sonar scanning feeds a deduction board where every case offers two conclusions, one corrupt and one healing, and the corruption meter doubles as a farmable resource: perks it destroys grant permanent stat boosts. Non-Euclidean temple architecture, the drowned drilling station, and environmental storytelling dense enough to read like a manual sustain the descent to the prison-city. Jump, interact, and climbing inputs silently fail with no visible trigger, forcing repeated main-menu reloads, and pit-traversal soft locks compound the breakage. The finale's constellation-lock puzzle is opaque enough to defeat honest solving entirely. Judge it as a cosmic-mystery puzzler rather than horror and the core loop holds.

This game was "ok". I have played better. I hope it gets a DLC or something to improve the game. The main issue I had was in the storyline. Seemed broken or jagged and didn't make sense.

Good story so far, but the technical part is horrible

I love this game. The story and the visuals are excellent. I've seen a lot of complaints about bugs and I've really only encountered one, I cannot get a 100% achievement for this game because it will not pick up on the macrowaves achievement. I will say I was expecting more horror/survival elements, it is more of a puzzle game with a really cool story.
