About Clover Day's Plus

✦ AI summary

Clover Day's Plus is a visual novel where you reunite with childhood friends and mysterious twins who reappear a decade later, reigniting emotions and long-buried promises made when you were all young. Navigate complex relationships and uncover what changed in everyone's hearts over ten years as you discover the truth behind a cherished bond frozen in time.

STORY:

Bottled-up emotions...
An everlasting oath...
Heartfelt desires...
An enduring regret...
And a childhood promise.

Yuuto was abandoned by his parents and raised in an orphanage in Britain before a trading merchant by the name of Takakura Yoshiomi adopted him and brought him to Japan.

He could barely speak the language, but he had the support and love of his two new sisters, the cheery yet shy Anzu, and the calm, collected Anri.
During his time in elementary school, he also made new friends: the ingenuous and kind Tsubame, and the ostentatious but guarded Izumi.

They were young and oblivious to love back then. They laughed together, cried together, and nurtured irreplaceable bonds with one another.

Ten years later...

The landscape of the town has changed, and so have they.

Yet some things never do change, no matter how much time passes.

"Do you still remember the promise we made that day?"

Ten years ago, during their childhood, there was another pair of twins that they all played with.
Hekiru and Hikaru reappear and the emotions that have since frozen in time are now rekindled.
This marks the beginning of their resplendent time together, their "Clover Days."

I thought I was just opening a game. But Clover Day's was never just a game. It was a quiet afternoon that never seemed to end, a fleeting spring that refused to fade, a memory I didn’t know I had… until it was placed gently into my hands. Every word felt like it was waiting for me. Every silence said more than it should. And somewhere between those ordinary days, my heart learned how to feel something deeper. And then Izumi. Not a heroine. Not just a route. But a presence. A warmth. Like sunlight slipping through curtains, soft, uninvited, yet impossible to ignore. I found pieces of myself in her voice, in the way she smiled, in the fragile honesty she carried without ever asking to be understood. It scared me, a little how something fictional could feel so real. When it ended, nothing around me had changed. The same room. The same screen. But somehow, I wasn’t the same person anymore. Maybe that’s what *Clover Day’s* truly is not a story you read, but a feeling you carry. A quiet kind of love. A gentle kind of pain. And a reminder that even the smallest days can stay with you forever.

Why do 2D visual novels always get classified as 2D platformers? It's stupid and makes no sense. All it does is shove 2D platformer games (I hate 2D platformers) into my game recommendation feed. And it isn't "Clover Day's." It's written: "Clover Days" This VN is not as good as the other reviewers make it out to be. The graphics aren't that great and the story is boring. So why all of the hyperbole? Frankly, I don't know. It really isn't that good. It reuses (or regurgitates) the same old tropes from other visual novels and it does nothing new with them, except with the number of female love interests. It appears to be written by a first-year English student, which makes for a migraine-inducing read. Everyone keeps saying that the music is great. It isn't. As in not at all. The op song is horrible and the in-game music is boring and uninspired. Most of the girls are of the immature loli type, which is a major turn off. They just write that they are all 18+ years old to make it palatable for the censors. One of the worst and most boring visual novels I have ever had the misfortune to read. Yuck! Score: 1 out of 10

Clover Day's Plus, developed by ALcot and published by HIKARI FIELD and NekoNyan Ltd., is a romance-focused visual novel that embraces the conventions of the genre while leaning heavily into themes of nostalgia, childhood bonds, and the emotional weight of shared memories. It positions itself as a character-driven experience above all else, building its appeal through relationships rather than plot complexity or gameplay innovation. The story follows Yuuto, a protagonist whose life becomes intertwined with a group of childhood friends and adoptive family members, all connected by a shared past that continues to influence their present. The narrative unfolds gradually, beginning with a relaxed slice-of-life tone before revealing deeper emotional threads tied to promises, misunderstandings, and lingering feelings. This progression gives the story a sense of continuity, as past and present events are woven together to shape the characters’ motivations and relationships. Structurally, the game adheres to a familiar visual novel format, starting with a common route that introduces the setting and cast before branching into individual character routes. Each heroine’s path explores a di…

Was a surprisingly enjoyable read. The story is engaging and easy to get into, with a lot of genuinely funny moments—especially once I realized that every single route somehow involves twins. At that point, I just had to respect the commitment. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I honestly didn’t expect to like it nearly as much as I did, but it completely won me over by the end. The BGM is fantastic, and the OP is an absolute banger. What else is there to say?

Overall just okay. Has some emotional moments but needed another few rounds of editing. It drags on and on for the cute date scenes and lovey--dovey moments and then the actual meat of the routes are resolved pretty quick in most cases. There are some really powerful plot devices that go completely unused or just barely acknowledged. The TL is pretty good but I think that Tsubame's Kansai dialect got overly localized. She speaks with a Kansai accent but it's not as strong as it makes it out to be. My favorite track is "Stretching Kitten", the art is cute at points. The H scenes add basically nothing to the story. There were many times where I was embarrassed just reading the nonsense they were making the girls say. The protag is basically just a pervert who at least is very faithful to whoever he loves. Not a fan of love polygons like they have going on here, and LGBT stuff isnt handled superr well. The female teacher is also a borderline groomer. Overall a fun exploration of love. Each route essentially revolves around a very earnest love but with some sort of burden hanging over it. And not just the protag and the love interest; many times the familial love issues are the main …
