Opaline

Colors were pretty - but the gems took a vacation and left me staring at a puzzle that forgot how to work. Even the rainbow quit.

Opaline is a charming, small indie RPGMaker game that has heart despite its flaws. While the game may have received some negative reviews for being unpolished, it offers a nostalgic 16-bit experience filled with adventure, romance, and an engaging story. The dynamic between Gallow and Liza is heartfelt, as their destinies seem to pull them apart while their feelings draw them closer. The split-party mechanic adds a nice layer of strategy, and the secret rooms and side quests offer plenty of content for fans of retro RPGs. It's a hidden gem for those who appreciate small indie RPG efforts.

Enjoyable rpg with a split party system until late game. Some quests appear to be time sensitive. It is a tough decision on your final party al all the characters are capable members. That makes this game replay value high.

What begins as a simple coming-of-age tale evolves into a larger struggle involving ancient corruption known as the Blight. Rather than focusing solely on heroic deeds and epic battles, Opaline spends considerable time exploring the bond between its protagonists. Their separate experiences and eventual reunions provide the narrative with an emo…

Didn't really enjoy what I played of it, but I think it was more that I don't tend to get into RPGMaker games. I don't like the appearance, the movement, and the combat becomes dull after you've seen it so many times.
