About Ultra Age

Slash your way through a futuristic Earth overrun with ruthless mutants and powerful robots as Age, a young soldier sent on a mission to prevent the destruction of humankind.

Now including ‘Rebirth Project,’ the all-new rogue-lite side mission that can be accessed from the main menu!
(DLC installation is required.)

Far in the future, the resources of Earth have become insufficient, its ecosystem long ago changed irrevocably by a passing meteor. Humankind has divided into two: the people who have escaped Earth and relocated to the space colony, 'Orbital Arc,' and those who have remained on Earth in a facility called ‘The Shelter.’

Humanity vanished from earth after civilians from The Shelter failed on the experiment that was meant to be the last hope for humanity, while people from the Orbital Arc sent expeditions to earth in search for resources . Failing to find any signs of life, A young sword-wielding warrior named Age falls down from orbit to Earth. Accompanied by his floating android, Helvis, he must find the indispensable key to the survival of humankind...

Slash through foes with a variety of blades in high-speed, stylish action! Change blades on the fly into powerful moves to create linkage and run combos. Different attributes and varied actions call for strategy against different types of foes.

Launch the wire skill to pull smaller enemies toward you, or Quantum Warp to get instant access to larger foes! Use the wire to strategically overcome crowds, traverse gaps on land and quickly grab items.

Gather elements to enhance your blades, expand your skills, and learn new combos. Install modules and power gear to level up Age and increase your arsenal of blades to take down the toughest of enemies. Use Helvis to burst into Critical Rage, cast Healing Pocket to recover, or Time Shift to loot more items.

Follow Age on his journey in the year 3174. Experience cutscenes that tell the story of Age’s mission across futuristic mecha, forests and deserts developed with Unreal Engine. Encounter mysterious characters and overcome menacing bosses to uncover the story behind the fate of humankind.

Fight through a series of hexagonal zones spanning 30 Floors as a reincarnate construct of Age. Consisting of battle zones with increasing difficulty and rewards, new monsters and bosses not seen in the main game, an enhanced upgrade system, and new blade affinities, ‘Rebirth Project’ adds a completely separate game experience providing hours and hours of gameplay to Ultra Age.

Thought this game was going to be boring and by the numbers but after finishing it I'm really glad I played it after all this time sitting in my library. Best way I can describe it would be Nier Automata Lite. Made by a smaller team but surprisingly looks good, plays great, upgrades, a cool chip system I instantly liked and unlocked all 6 slots asap, very linear with a lil' exploring if ya want, lots of colorful particle effects and colors to satisfy monkey brains like me. A game where it's not, "run 10 ft get locked into an arena and kill stuff for 3 minutes, run 10 ft, doi it again" ad nauseam. No crashes or bugs. Started in normal and it felt a bit too tough for me, changed it to easy and it felt great. Achievements are mostly easy too, (just play the game, upgrade stuff and you got 90% of them).

At first, I was going to put a recommendation for this B-grade game. It has okay asset-based graphics, an okay story from Nier Automata, and a pretty solid battle system straight from DMC4. But during the final parts, specifically the 3rd maze with Atlas as the final boss, it got extremely frustrating. Atlas is a difficult boss, and the fact that you need to go through the whole labyrinth with tough enemies is tiring and depressing. Also, the achievements stopped working during Atlas's tries, so this goes for the second frustrating fact. Although, unlike Atlas, Deucalion was a much better boss and overall the conclusion of the story with potential continuation was okay, those two facts really turned the tide to the Not Recommend category. There are better slashers, not made of assets, that you can find.

This game ends up being one of those scrappy action games that grows on you, and coming back to it a second time especially after first playing on PS5, it really does feel like it’s been polished up more than you expected. The third person hack and slash action gameplay is fun and tight with some comparisons mechanics I can compare to DMC. Combat felt swift, dodge mechanic feels very natural and felt very inspired in DMC/Bayonetta in its elements. The graphics look sharper, the combat flows better, and the whole thing gives off a low‑key remaster vibe even though it isn’t one. It still leans heavily into that old‑school story structure; straightforward, simple, and not exactly memorable, with voice acting that I might not even recall being there the first time around. The narrative isn’t what carries the experience, but the improved gameplay and presentation make it a surprisingly enjoyable return trip for anyone who appreciates a fast, stylish action title that doesn’t pretend to be more than it is. -6/10-

Good if you have that hack-n-slash itch. I had enough fun with this game to look at some of there other games. I hope they keep improving and can make another one someday.

I enjoyed this little indie title. There is some definite moments you can see that it wants to do more than it can and you can tell where it draws it's influences from (DMC5 and Nier Automata mostly). It was a solid 6 or so hours for the campaign and I put another 3-4 into the FREE DLC mode. Overall I think games like this that are just done for the love of it are awesome, and I hope these devs keep going. Thanks for the time! 100% after 9.6 HRs.
