Rogue Glitch Ultra

Don’t let the graphics fool you. Rogue Glitch may look simple, but it is dangerously fun. I started playing just to “check it out for a few minutes,” and here we are now, hours after hours. This is honestly one of the most fun and surprising games I’ve played. The roguelite mechanics are implemented really well, every run feels exciting, and the gameplay is incredibly addictive. It is the true definition of a hidden gem. I just hope it gets more content in the future, because apparently I need even more reasons to destroy my sleep schedule.

Finally finished a run (the 6 stages, not 3) after 30 hours playing this game... phew... This game REALLY nailed it about the "easy to learn, hard to master" difficulty. The concept is really simple, auto fire at enemies when they are close enough, additionally you can stomp them (up to 3 times per jump) to damage them. It will make you think "That sounds easy", but danggg, I only completed one run after 30 hours of trying. I REALLY love this game, and I will keep playing it. There are some more secrets that I havent discovered yet, also some items and characters that I haven't unlocked yet. I REALLY recommend this game if you like either roguelites or platformer games, or just retro / pixel games in general. Go ahead and try it yourself!

Y'know I had thought this was an extremely unique and refreshing take on roguelikes as a genre, with nothing out there quite like it. Then I played Risk of Rain. And I still think that. Rogue Glitch is sort of like a sampler of every roguelike mechanic you ever loved, with little morsels of every game under the sun being cooked to perfection together, and also someone dumped an entire bottle of Risk of Rain into the pot on accident That's not to say the game has no voice, though, it is very stylized, with the whole package being in simplistic, retro visuals without doing the whole "hur dur must be minimalist pixel art routine", resulting in a slick, buttery experience that is admittedly best played with a controller, but can be enjoyed just as well on keyboard. It's five dollars, and I've played for 168 hours; just try it dude.

I think I got this game for free, because I definitely wouldn't pay for this.

Very fun, the bosses are very interesting, especially the last 2, some synergies feel kind of broken (mainly hearts up + damage dodge and heart pickups along with something w decent dps) but that doesn't take much away from the game, would reccomend
