Goetia 2

[b]TLDR[/b] A disappointment compared to the previous game in every way. I recommend it for hardcore puzzle enthusiasts but if you, like me, were a fan of the previous game, you'll be disappointed. Unsure how to feel about this game. I felt kinda meh about a lot of it, mainly because it overstays it's welcome quite a bit.Especially the last hour or so of gameplay I was just ready for it to be over and I was trying to get to the ending ASAP. I really enjoyed the previous game, it was hard as balls and there was a lot of backtracking, but a lot of it was fairly intuitive and the game was pretty good at giving you direction in the way the areas became accessible over time. While Goetia 2 does part of this as well, with the new areas that unlock over time, there's a lot of back and forth and there's basically no direction whatsoever on what to do and where to go. While the first game had a fairly good flow, not sure what to call it, Goetia 2 comes to a screeching halt every time you collect a new item for the ritual. Got the game when on sale and still enjoyed it! The experience was of course marred by the glitches and having to force shut the computer to reload a previous save (if you quit, it saves the current position and after the glitch where the orbs disappear in the bedroom... it was unfortunately the only solution I found - would be helpful if we were able to load from a previous checkpoint or something) Even though I spent the better part of 4 days (the hours recorded are defo higher, it didn't record a good 3-4 hours I was stuck/glitched throughout), I'm glad I played it! Beautiful art, slayful soundtrack and story. I adored the first one when I played it back in 2019/2020, and despite all it's faults, I'd recommend 2. So much so, that I selfishly want a Goetia 3! So, I guess my question is, would there be a Goetia 3? Are we to see Luca, Daphne, Buer and Annie again? Would characters from 1 and 2 interact or would it be an original story again?

Like it less than the first game, and the story is less entertaining and enigmatic as the first, but makes up for it with some pretty damn hard puzzles; definitely struggled with this one. Still worth your time if you like puzzles and a good opportunity for a 3rd game.

Forced fullscreen with max resolution of 1080p. I encountered a save-breaking bug after collective five elements and had to resort to Youtube to watch the ending of the game. The script has one or two typos that don't detract from the atmosphere. The soundtrack is repetitive but not annoyingly so. Voice acting would've made this stand out better since most of the time we're just one dude floating around with nothing happening while we fling objects around; the latter quarter of the game is far more dynamic but in a almost whiplash-y way. This isn't as good as the first game, but I appreciate the ambition and would recommend it if they ever come out with a Goetia 3, which this is clearly setting up for. There is NO resolution in the end of this story, so if you go in expecting answers you will be disappointed. This does connect to the first game but if you've played the first game and were satisfied, you won't get anything else from this. If Goetia 3 never happens, I'll be annoyed.

Great job. Not the 1st, but not the worst. I didn't run into any bugs. I would have liked the locked areas to remain highlighted on the map though after unlocked. Possessed objects over question marks was a little fiddly sometimes, but not enough for me to really care.
