Trash, good luck with a tiger on a hallway with 3 frame window to do damage to it, stun locks you and hits you again before the animation to stand up finishes. I played the first one, was playable this is not. ***Edit: I figured it out (mostly) why I was having such a hard time doing damage, it wasn't frames it was the resolution, I was playing at 4k and apparently the hurt boxes don't scale... I then change it to 1080 and it works, still not great or something that the player should figure out specially since the resolution is not locked, but is now more playable, yet enemies still hit you on your wake up animation and stun lock you. I don't know about a 3rd one if they keep going backwards.

I was hoping this were an improvement on the first one which...is also kind of bad. Spoiler: it wasn't. The exploration isn't bad and hand-to hand combat is ok but the camera combat is awful, you have a very limited time window to "hit" the ghosts which can become tiring and frustrating quickly.. The story is quite meh... Honest recommendation: Skip this one.

this game plays like ♥♥♥♥ and is filled with filler there are so many parts of this game that could me cut like literal parts of the map and nothing would be lost

this is tough. despite popular opinion, i normally rate the dreadout games pretty favorably. i'm absolutely in love with the aesthetics, lore, mythology, characters, and general themes of these games. it's just so unique and truly an untapped market in horror games. that's why the first game is one of my favorite games ever. i enjoyed keepers of the dark for the same reasons, despite the slightly janky combat mechanics in that one, but this one, this one is like if you took everything bad about KOTD's combat system and ramped it up tenfold and shoved it in every crevice of the game. the combat is the absolute WORST i have ever played in any game ever. at first, you're grateful that linda is a bit tanky because wow she's slow compared to the monsters and you're getting smacked left and right when you try to attack, but then you find yourself wishing she wasn't because you WILL somehow get stunlocked to death. please, just ditch actual fighting and keep the camera combat. that's what makes the game unique and charming in the first place. other than the horrendous combat, i actually love everything else about the game, most especially the environments and maps. it's so expanded upon…
