NoseBound

I very much wanted to get into the game, and the graphics are great. Unfortunately, I was let down by the UI. Cumbersome walking, intermittent dialogue skipping, and some non-sensical puzzles right out of the gate made it a pass for me.

NoseBound really nails the noir atmosphere. The moment you step into Deep Sleep City, you can feel that heavy, mysterious vibe. The black-and-white style gives it that old detective movie look, and the soundtrack keeps the tension just right without being over the top. The puzzles are clever enough to make you think but never so hard that you want to quit. It’s story-focused, well-paced, and memorable. If you enjoy detective adventures, I definitely recommend giving this a try.

I'm genuinely impressed by how well this game captures that gritty detective story feeling. The world feels alive in its own dark way, and the voice acting gives the characters a lot of personality. Gameplay is point-and-click, but it's smooth and makes sense, so it doesn't feel outdated. I had no issues running it, and it played without bugs or crashes. It's clear the developers cared about what they were making, and it shows in the details. If you like mystery games that keep you hooked with story and atmosphere, this one's worth it.

Starts off okay, but rapidly drops into a pit of dumb. The voice acting is poor quality and poor audio quality with huge gaps between each line. The music is incredibly repetitive. The dialogue is stilted and artificial at best. The story [such as there is] is completely nonsensical and basically relies on "everyone lied to you" as the big twist. There's no challenge in the point and click aspect, 99% of it is either completely arbitrary or incredibly obvious. Animations are meh. You can't skip single dialogue lines so during the massive exposition sections at the end of the game you have to sit through long-winded explanations that cover stuff the game already explained, along with the massive gaps between each line. Not worth it for full price, possibly worth it if it was 75% off.

Had this on my wish list after playing the demo, so decided to buy. At the time of playing the demo, something drew me in and I guess it was the dark vibes it gave off. Having played an hour or so I'm not sure it left the same feeling with me. I've given it a thumbs down but it's mixed really. It does feel very sluggish with big pauses in dialogues which would be ok if he voice acting was any good. The main character is ok but the other characters I encountered were painful to listen to and due to the nature of the game, there's a lot of talking. The audio mixing also has varying levels of volume in places. The first fuse puzzle didn't make any sense to me and it was only by accident that I found you could drag and drop items to combine (the game doesn't really tell you that). The inventory often gets in the way of searching and could of been locked or expanded from the corner. The style of graphics is probably the most appealing thing really, although some animations are on loop and just seem odd and distracting. Could do with some polish but ultimately I didn't really enjoy it.

This game really makes you feel like a detective… mostly because you’ll end up snooping through stuff that definitely isn’t yours. Between breaking windows, picking locks, and poking into people’s business, I had a blast. The noir look is spot-on, and the story kept me glued to the screen until the end. It’s not often a point-and-click adventure feels this immersive, but NoseBound pulls it off. If you’re into mystery games and want something stylish with a bit of grit, this is the one to grab.
