one gorgeous old school 360 pointclick quest. pretty creepy most of the time
This is a pretty old point and click. Nostalgic, but the controls are dated.
It's old and dated but it's cool. I would suggest using a guide as a lot of the hints that you're supposed to find don't really work correctly and like half the stuff that I saw and thought "that seems pretty important" the game outright tells me it's not when I try to underline it. Also the story doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The ending really explains basically nothing about what's going on, and you can piece it together yourself mostly from the stuff you find through the game but there's no actual conclusion to what you found. Game is also only $8 though so I'd still say worth the money. 7/10
After some really horrible point & click horror games, this was a breath of fresh air, so that is likely tainting my review. While there were some clues that didn't make sense, in general, figuring out what was needed from the documents and environment was not overly difficult. The backtracking to get new clues was a bit tedious, but if you're good at remembering what you've picked up in a previous visit to a location, tagging new clues isn't an issue. The story itself is typical Lovecraft, along with nonsensical imagery and situations that make no sense without the context of Lovecraftian lore. I definitely got a "In the Mouth of Madness" vibe (a bit closer to the movie). In general, a must if you enjoy Lovecraft; if you want something that makes complete sense in a logical, sane world, this definitely will leave you unfulfilled.
