Restoration is a small JRPG from Team Syukino that caught my attention because of its story about people losing hope and slowly being turned into nightmares. I play as Oliver and Penello, two siblings who travel through the region of Astrelia after answering their grandmother's final request. The main idea is that I use the power of Restoration to purify the hearts of people who are close to giving in to despair. It is a simple setup, but I like the darker idea underneath the colourful presentation. The story is probably the strongest reason for me to keep going. The game is clearly interested in themes like hope, despair and helping people who have reached a really bad point in their lives. I like that the Restoration idea is connected directly to the story instead of just being a random gameplay mechanic. The journey through Astrelia gives me different situations to deal with, and the relationship between Oliver and Penello gives the adventure a bit more personality. It is not a massive epic RPG, but there is enough of an idea here to make the world worth exploring. The actual RPG gameplay is fairly simple, which is both good and bad for me. Графика и звуковая дорожка создают напряженную атмосферу, а ветвящийся сюжет заставляет задуматься о моральных дилеммах. Однако линейный геймплей и иногда запутанные сцены могут оттолкнуть.
