Lost in Random: The Eternal Die

After a somewhat promising start, I cannot get myself to finish this game. It does some things right; combat feels nice and snappy, and the build system with relics, pearls, and dyes is actually quite fun. The art style isn't my cup of tea personally, but overall the game looks and sounds pretty good. Sadly, it's too shallow to justify the amount of runs it would take to actually finish the game. The weapons are extremely generic, and there's not much going on in terms of interesting risk-reward choices, or other elements that would keep runs feeling fresh in a game with a roguelike structure. I was quickly at a point where the regular enemies of the first two biomes felt like a pointless chore. The metaprogression upgrades are also very uninspired, the weapon enhancements even more so. The game also failed to reel me in with its storytelling. Sure, there's a bad guy and I have to keep playing his game over and over and try to beat him. But apart from that, the "story" consists of very loosely connected snippets of lore, and presumably references to events of the first Lost in Random game. First and foremost: I've never played Hades. I own it, but I have yet to play it. I enjoyed what this title had to offer. I was immediately drawn in by the aesthetic. The combat is smooth and fluid, and the upgrade system of relics, that can result in stat increases based on placement on the board, was pretty interesting as well. I had a great time with it, and I couldn't stop playing until I finally defeated the final boss. Solid recommendation from me.

Очень понравилась игра. Атмосфера просто шикарная, визуал в стиле первой части, а боевая система реально затягивает. Каждый забег хочется попробовать что-то новое, собрать другой билд и посмотреть, что из этого выйдет. Не сказать, что игра идеальная, иногда забеги становятся немного однообразными, но в целом впечатления очень положительные. Особенно если вам нравятся рогалики и необычные сказочные миры. Однозначно рекомендую попробовать.

The item build mechanics are pretty unique and fun. Art style deserves special mentions. I do love everything about this game except dialogs. They are not that bad but I found them kind of basic and boring, skipped almost everything.
