If you discriminate against other nationalities you end up getting arrested and you aren't allowed to be sexist. Why even bother?

Played it on steamdeck. The keybindings are atrocious for a game that is only just point and click. Why is the left joystick tied to an in-game screenshotter??? Anyways, the game doesn't offer a whole lot of meaningful choices. Its a visual novel and has a whooole lot of reading to do for things that just don't contribute much to the story or setting. There are lots of elements and characters very shallowly explored and it isnt much better when it comes to the several different systems it throws at you to manage. Fun too, it doesn't really tell you much of anything on how to play the game and effectively manage it. I guess that feels immersive for the clueless character who finds himself randomly in charge of the entire city for unknown reasons. So aside from walls of meaningless text it isn't well written and has its share of typos, including in one of it's achievements which makes it difficult to understand how to trigger it. By the end of this, I was just quickloading save states of mine to rapidly click through and get the other routes so I could set it down and say, 'Well, that's done.' It's disappointing because I tend to like political stories and narrative driven games …

A very frustrating game, but long live the regime!

Fun little game with nicely presented visuals and a LOT of reading. Short but worth the money, especially on a sale. 3.5/5

An interesting game with some good commentary and interesting plot, I find it a bit forgettable compared to similar games but I don't think tis bad by any means!

Depending on your reading speed, you will likely finish this game in two hours. The listed price of 17 USD is not justified at all. If you still want to play, I recommend buying during a sale where it's less than 4 USD. The plot and writing is initially promising, but never sufficiently escalates. The vast majority of issues brought to you are tackled on a day-to-day basis and never translate to plot relevance or personal risk. The long-term plot also had potential at the beginning, but concluded the game in an unusually abrupt fashion alongside itself.
