Devs abandoned the game. They chose to leave behind a buggy, unfinished game that fans had given so much grace and leeway to, because fans believed in the concept. But the devs took the early access money and moved on, leaving this game unplayable. This will never be fixed, and never be the game we were promised. Don't give them your money

Game breaking bugs eventhough its been out for years, shamefull that the devs couldnt be bothered finishing their game.

First played this back in 2020, and I remember having a pretty fun time with it. Think The Sims, but with a lot more booze, medieval tavern drama, and questionable activities. That said, my first playthrough was plagued by bugs and lag. Characters would get stuck, tasks would bug out, and once enough people flooded the inn, the game would practically start serving lag alongside the ale. I even finished the game without triggering some Steam achievements because of it. The Anniversary Edition brings some welcome improvements. The addition of the Innkeeper’s Hand, in particular, makes it much easier to deal with employees getting stuck and helped keep some glitches at bay. My 2026 playthrough was definitely a much smoother experience. The world-building ties neatly into the story, and the artwork has a charming medieval style that’s easy to appreciate. Overall, it’s a solid improvement from the version I played back in 2020. Cheers to Crossroads Inn! 🍻
