System Compatibility
SimCity was tested for performance and hardware compatibility when it was originally launched. While the classic gameplay of SimCity 4 remains unchanged, unexpected performance and graphics issues with newer systems may occur. If you experience any performance or graphics issues, we recommend running in Windowed Mode and/or Compatibility Mode to maintain the intended experience.

All they had to do was make bigger maps on a new engine. Maybe better AI.
i have had this game for over a decade. i think it is about time i write a review for it. Very fun city builder, runs amazingly, occasional crashes but making big cities is really fun, it has almost no bugs and i could spend hours playing it!
Works flawlessly, plugins, Network Addon Mods and other mods too!
Works in Linux.
Best city builder of its generation, period. Today, it's probably simplistic compared to titles such as cities:skylines, but there something that you can't STILL do in ANY city builder game: build cities of 10-20 millions people with no population limit! And that's thanks to regions, which are containers of cities that can be combined the make an extensive metropolis with real and functioning road/rail and ferry connections. amazing game.
Woah, thanks to sc4pac, modding and extending the game has become really simple. I've only played it for a few hours but thanks to Rob's guide on YouTube I've already seen my share and tested a few things. A completely different game than Cities Skylines but great in it's own ways. Lovely design and graphics and thoughthrough simulations that one can learn to master.
