Beautiful art and very good representing Greek art mythology but the gameplay is just pure garbage ...it takes few tries just to go down into areas and do different tasks ..there are similar games that aren't like this ...is just something i can't recomand...2D games are meant to be fun and very enjoyable but this game doesn't feel so..but if you have more patience ..this game can be enjoyed more i guess.

So far I LOVE this metroidvania. The art style is delightful, and as a history nerd I love this very authentic take on Greek mythology. There are even stones with Homeric Hymns scattered around where you can read more about the various gods and monsters.

Apotheon is a metroid-vania with a really unique greek pottery art style. The great part is that even when the gameplay can sometimes be hit and miss, the core loop is enjoyable enough. Lots of secets and weapons to unlock. Great soundtrack and the voice acting is all right as well. Not the best game ever, but it was a good time. I would love to see ancient Rome, Egypt and other empires to be shown in a style like this. I'd recommend it even more if not for the crashes. My biggest problems were loading screen crashes, sometimes super frequent, other times I played for 1,5-2 hours without problems. The loading times are super fast and it's easy to relaunch the game so it's not the end of the world. Still it's an 8.5/10, great fun!
