F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch

I played this game to prepare for the upcoming Zoopunk, since I saw that game's trailer and was very intrigued. The Chinese saw the bad press furries got ever since RainFurrest, and made a competent Metroidvania to boost their image. I had a lot of fun and it started off very strong, and while the cracks were starting to show around the midpoint, it did its best to finish strong. [h3]Gameplay[/h3] Alright. You navigate through dashing, wall-jumping, double jumping. You also get 3 weapons to use in combat: The Fist, then you unlock The Drill and the Whip, all of which help you unlock shortcut doors in the world. Additionally, each weapon has a unique feature: the Drill lets you swim through water faster; the Fist moves batteries to activate doors/elevators; the Whip lets you slingshot across grapple points. Each weapon has their own light/medium-heavy combo system and a grapple mixed in there to make fighting supposed to feel unique and complex, and is supposed to make the combat feel super weighty and fun. Enemies can also be executed, including most bosses: you get them at low health and they start glowing red, then you get close and press Circle to finish them off in a stylishly…

one of the best games iv played ... made me remember Jazz Jackrabit from the old days

Well-designed and thought Metrovania type game. Had a lot of fun playing it. Story is decent and it is clear that the developers are very passionate about making the game. Reccommended for a good time. Number of hours is for me to achieve all achievements.

前面的boss难度设置的还行,最后那两个最终boss,基本就是要求无伤通过,虽然打过了之后很爽,但是你知道这个过程多痛苦吗. 我踏马打最后一个boss打了4个半小时. 没有一点容错,基本碰一下就死, 那个boss血条还巨厚, 还是三条命. 这样设置难度的吗? 有没有脑子啊, 策划自己玩了没, 居然变相要求无伤,离谱. 傻子策划,只有两个难度, 难度梯度不合理. 音乐也没有沉浸感, 画风也一般, 不如精灵与黑暗精灵的一根毛

This was a weird play. I finished it and enjoyed the last few bosses more than a lot of the game. So much of the game frustrated me though. The fast travel felt too spread out and backtracking wasn't very fun. That and the level design felt pretty clunky. Despite those complaints I still enjoyed the other elements of the game enough to complete it.

I was a bit wary about buying this based on some of the reviews I saw, but I'm glad I gave it a go. This was obviously a labour of love and I wasn't let down. If you're on the fence, maybe some of these points will help you decide whether to buy it or not: +1 Lots of gameplay. It kept going, but I especially liked that there were some areas you couldn't cheese and were only able to access secrets/get 100% map completion after you found all the upgrades +1 Some pretty cool mechanics and unlockable skills +1 Awesome art, biomes, character, and music design +0.5 Video game in my video game +0.5 Bosses were relatively easy--beatable in 1-3 attempts with a harder boss for the finale =0 At least one of the bosses became a recurring mini-boss. There were enough bosses (and variety of them) that I didn't mind much, but I'm glad it only showed up as many times as it did and not more -0.5 I found that I only used 2 ultimates for the majority of the game--I didn't need more and I wasn't punished for it. After unlocking the drill, I never used the fist again -1 TRAINING!!! The combos were incredibly difficult to complete and were not used at all--I beat all but the intermediate stage…
