Pretty meh, very grindy, every match is the same. It looks better than other rougelites, but its game mechanics are nothing if not lackluster. Had to ask myself at some point why I was still playing and it was basically to grind out achievements and chase my anxieties away.1 found this helpful
A good game with interesting ideas and replayable to some extent, but too short and too shallow. Many aspects could have been better. This is one of a very few "survivor" games that comes with realistic 3D graphics - my real favour. But the main characters only run, with no attacking action, just weapons flying around. Now we have only 4 unique maps, most look irrelevant to what they are called (like "cultists' lair" which looks like a quarry or "dungeon" which looks like a palace ruin and garden.) Constructions are the core innovation of the game, but limited construction sites especially in later maps and some constructions are still inefficient (especially the new ones - too expensive, limited use, easily destroyed.) Still need more changes, and I think they should be customizable and should have unique upgrades. There are five classes with a number of characters available to unlock and play. Cool!!! but the classes are nothing more than extended bonus stats, and all will be maxed out very shortly. It would be better to give further upgrades with more uniqueness and sub-classes that may be chosen in each round. The roster is still too few, still [u] LACK OF MANY ICONI…
Once I figured it out I found it's the best one out next to yet another zombie survivor.
Pretty decent survivors game that is very well balanced. There isn't too much depth, but a quick ~30 hours to 100%. Mostly played on Steam Deck at a very stable 45 FPS. The $0.99 characters are a fun addition and not crying over a $1 each. I'd personally give it a 7/10.
It is a solid action roguelike overall, and the structure mechanic brings a nice bit of freshness to the genre. What I did notice, though, is that the game could use more variety. Many runs end up feeling quite similar, mainly because the abilities don’t change the gameplay that much outside of the character specific ones. After a while, it can feel pretty repetitive. The run overview could also be improved. It would help to have a way to check your charactar atributes in a run, and a better overview of which worlds you’ve completed on which difficulty. Right now, it’s a bit hard to keep track of that. Overall, it’s a good game and definitely worth checking out for the price.
Good - I just wish it had better animations especially for my character. Like they kind of just run around while things happen around them and there is no actually use of their bodies. At least a sword or axe swing from my characters arms would help this visual.
