Magical Blush

i had a really good time with this one!! magical Blush has a charming little fantasy world with pretty pixel art, magic and lots of exploration. i especially enjoyed discovering new spells and experimenting with them during combat, since the different elements make the fights more interesting. there are also puzzles and secrets scattered around the map which made exploring feel rewarding. its a simple game but has a lot of charm and its really easy to get into. a lovely little adventure for anyone who enjoys magic, exploration and cute pixel art!!

Despite it being a genuinely wholesome game, your friends will likely think you are being "horny on main" when your in-game status reads [i]Magical Blush[/i]. If you're afflicted with SMV (Sega Mind Virus) like I am, [i]Magical Blush[/i] will immediately evoke memories of playing action RPGs on the Saturn. I think this is mostly due to its high quality 2D art and "CD quality" soundtrack. Check out the music in the third video trailer if you want a taste of what I mean (sadly that cut did not make it into the game). The visuals and music clearly cater to my disease but what about the gameplay? Exploration is mostly non-linear with little backtracking and players have a choice in where to go next. Genre-wise I'd say it's a mix between action RPG and puzzle platforming. The platforming itself is unfortunately pretty finnicky and imprecise. This is particuarly noticeable when you need to create platforms or attack in a diagonal direction. Character movement is otherwise snappy and it's fun to smash into pots to get coins/mana. Combat is also pretty fun and involves using elemental magic spells to target foes' weaknesses. This feels pretty balanced early game but then as the game prog…

Had a great time playing it. The magic system is pretty addicting once you find a loadout that you're super comfortable with.

This is a REALLY fun game and definitely worth a go. The art style, the fluid gameplay and the platformer puzzles are a good time. It can be tricky to work out where to go but you just gotta explore A HIGH recommend

I found this game from a post on Reddit from the developer. Never heard of it until then. Bought it on a total whim. Glad I did, because I enjoyed just about every aspect of the game! The weaving of spells together and combo-ing enemies, using the talisman and changing the spell pools with the talisman to take full advantage of traversing, obtaining items, and defeating enemies is really smart. I had a bug with my old save file, and the developer was able to reach out to be and get everything squared away. Super friendly and helpful! Pretty sure this is their first game? But, I would love to see what they do next with some experience under their belt, and how they could expand upon the ideas in this game.
