"2 Minutes 16 Seconds (2分16秒)" is a gimmicky low quality Galaga-esque bullet hell shoot'em up that's driven by a basic premise... you keep looping through the same time period. But each time you get a bit more powered up. Imaging having to grind in a shmup... no, that's not really what gamers wanted after all. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Took me a embarassingly long time to git gud. I want more content, as it was fun.

Relatively quick play, beat it by Jump 10, throws you into the deep end and definitely has some jank to it, but the boss battle was actually pretty rewarding at the end, so give it a try if you have time!

For a roguelite space shooter with procedural generation, ship upgrades, weapon customization, rescuing crew and multiple systems to experiment with, 2 Minutes 16 Seconds has surprisingly little to work towards on Steam. There are no Steam achievements or Trading Cards, despite all the obvious milestones that could have been used for achievements. The game also feels very barebones, with a simple presentation and mechanics that don't have enough depth to make repeated runs particularly compelling. It's free and has an interesting premise, but it feels more like a small prototype than a fully developed roguelite.
