About Shooty

Shooty is an old-school space shooter with a focus on fast reactions and screen awareness. Multiple asteroids and powerups await you in a game reminiscent of 80s era arcade. Dodge through the expanse of space in fixed camera movement and stay alive as hundreds of peculiar rocks hurtle towards your spacecraft.

Grab power-ups and special ammo to ease your movement, and continually upgrade your ship as you progress through cosmic encounters. However, if you die, it's game over and you're back to the beginning. No mercy, but quick return.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game as a fun, fast-paced indie shooter with solid mechanics, nice atmospheric music, and engaging gameplay that captures classic arcade vibes without microtransactions. The main complaints center on the keyboard-only controls being annoying compared to mouse alternatives, the simplistic and somewhat generic visual style despite some sprite detail, and frustration with difficulty spikes that can prevent progression past certain stages. The game offers a reasonable amount of content at 40 levels with an intense final boss, though some note the developers plan to move on to ot

Pretty good game with decent mechanics and power up. Game play is fun but can be frustrating at times. Currently cant make it past stage 30. As far as bugs go, i couldn't find any as of yet. Its all controlled by "wasd" or arrow keys which to me can be annoying as i would've liked to have the ship be controlled by the mouse if possible. There tons of new asteroids and hazards each level, with it getting crazier and faster as the levels go up. Overall i think the game is good, 10/10 overall or as of now.

Just to be clear, i am close friends with the developers, and was involved in some of the early play testing. Why they didnt just give me a copy for free idk but i will laugh. This game was made by a few people and has and has only 40 levels. And likely will remain that way as the developers move on to other projects. Im not expecting something you play for hours. the music is nice and atmospheric contributes to the overall outspace athmostphere. The graphics are also nice and cute too. though are very simplistic. in the sense i mean that it is simplistic but in the sense that it feels like a collection of random shapes, not a distinct art style. However i do acknowledge that it is not just that, and there is minute and tiny details in the sprites and the like. The effort there is acknowledged so i will state it is not terrible either. The game play itself is quite simple and addicting. You have a control of two degrees of freedom of the ship. and get power ups here and there. with the main goal to dodge some asteroids. The game also breaks up the monotony of dodging every 10 rounds. That said, while the game was executed well and felt good, A priori the game could add in some…

This is a cheap indie game with no micro transaction so my review will take that into consideration. The game reminded me of the likes of Space Galaxy Shooters back in the old arcades days. It is fast pace so it took me some time to get adjusted. I feel like it is more of trying to survive than shooting them all type of shooters which is unique in itself.
