The Great War is over, and the Age of Diesel has come. While many believe this is an era of harmony and prosperity, you know that peace is more fragile than ever. You embark on a journey into the depths of Earth to find the means to avert future conflict. But what awaits you in the darkness below? Is it a boon or doom for humanity?
Take control of a colossal mech, capable of drilling through hundreds of meters of rock in a matter of seconds. Collect valuable resources, then fly back to your base to sell minerals for immense profit. Keep a close eye on your control panel: in a dangerous environment, your mech may overheat or overcool, and, most importantly, it doesn’t run on air – it needs fuel to operate. And beware of falling stones - your machine's hull won't withstand too much damage.
Your base has seen better days, but with enough amount of money you will restore it to its former glory and beyond to enhance your mining performance and unlock special abilities.

It's a better version of Mother Lode, the old flash game banger. 3 hours in and I feel like I'm less than half way. Great level design, super good pacing and it's got good upgrades, priced just right to get that 'one more run' syndrome.1 found this helpful

rock and stone
"We have steamworld dig at home". Why play this when Steamworld Dig exists? I made the mistake of thinking this might be more of the same type of fun. While it is mostly the same game, it lacks the charm, ease of play and just general "fun" factor.
Found this game in the sidebar of some site that hosted old flash games, whilst playing it's predecessor Motherlode for old time's sake. If you want an experience that gives you the same mechanics of Motherlode, but with modern QoL features like a larger FoV, a more complex upgrade system, default discarding of your lowest ore instead of the high-tier one you just mined, and not requiring an account on a game-hosting site you'll forget about to save, this game will be something to chew on. I like that the steampunk elements present aren't overbearing. The fashion and architecture are inspired by the industrial revolution, full of gizmos and greebles that serve some esoteric purpose in-universe beyond the main character's desire to comment on. Still, these widgets do not take up more space than they're welcome to, so the world comes off as more thought-out than the genre's typical hodgepodge of pointless gears and chainless sprockets. It's refreshing. The story was fated to be not that compelling to me specifically. I'm a Union man, the boss can stay buried for scabbing a laborer's position in that mech.
