About Advanced Tactics Gold
Based on the award winning game engine by the same name, Advanced Tactics: Gold offers a unique and infinitely replayable wargaming experience for any strategy fan. Building off of the enormous success of Advanced Tactics: World War II, the Gold edition gives players a more powerful game editor, much improved random game engine, many new features and abilities, and more. Advanced Tactics: Gold also comes with an updated manual and ever-changing and expanding wiki, a freshly revamped scenario bank, new graphics throughout the game, more troop types, as well as some new scenarios. VR Designs has also been hard at working listening to player feedback, so Advanced Tactics: Gold also comes with many incremental changes and improvements based on community feedback!
But perhaps the most exciting feature in Advanced Tactics: Gold is the near limitless potential for replayability. The strong mod community will be able to create engaging, rich scenarios with the vastly improved editor, and players looking to hop straight into the action can enjoy a much improved random game experience that comes with many new rules, actions, and gameplay mechanics.

It's absolutely amazing that this game is still being updated and hasn't been abandoned. And it's the best hex wargame for me. Because you can build in it, not only shooting ^^2 found this helpful
excellent pre-shadow empire game and how to develop military tactics and formations. See great "Example of Play" youtube videos for help and review2 found this helpful
Perfectly scratches the itch for tactical combat combined with typical 4X/Grand Strategy aspects. The random map generator and customization of the game allows for a tailor made experience for you. Truly a unique gem of a game with sparse but continuous patches for over a decade.1 found this helpful
No NATO counters setting unless I'm only starting a new Phoenix version game? Lame! I brought this up in the discussions and just got a speech and an insult from a modder on how I'm supposed to be ok with it. Acted like I personally attacked him or something just for bringing this up. Even called me a troll for having the complaint. Weird. After a bizarre exchange, he got all power-trippy and combative. It was something to behold. A military strategy game company that tries to gaslight users and calls them names if they have a complaint, as if they are the problem. Nice business strategy LOL. Whatever. That's the biggest thing that steams me now. (Pun intended) Before this, it was the fact that I bought this game years ago and this problem didn't exist then. Can't even ask for my money back now. Great. When I finally did get a response from a developer slightly more polite and helpful. They still talked down to me a bit like I was supposed to know all the ins and outs of the editor like the developing team. And then left me to figure it all out on my own. They do have some amount of tutorials on different aspects of the game but many things are also left out for you to figure out…
Astonishingly in-depth and highly addicting
very cool
