What Steam players say

AdvertCity attempts to blend city-building with advertising strategy but falls short in execution and clarity. Players consistently struggle with confusing mechanics, poor tutorials, unreadable UI elements, and an unclear gameplay loop that feels more like tedious clicking than engaging strategy. While the core concept of an advertising-focused tycoon game is intriguing, the vague systems and user-unfriendly design make it difficult for most players to understand what they're doing or stay engaged long enough to find enjoyment.
Sketchy tycoon-type game. You've in control of some advertisement agency, and your goal is to raise funds, as high as possible, by spamming the population in your zone of control with your ads. If you play your cards well, you'll get that much money, that you'll buy the corporations you've worked with, buy all the buildings in the city you're operating... The key word - sketchy. The visuals, the controls, the fundamental economical mechanics - are all too vague and outline, to get a feeling of the proper tycoon game. In the basic functionality, AdvertCity plays more like a clicker game. Very user-unfriendly clicker game, I might add. As a result, I really don't know if 1 gamer out of several millions, will play it for any length of time, keeping the interest in restarting this game with new cities to explore. My mark is 4.4/10, and I can't recommend it.13 found this helpful
AdvertCity stands out as a fresh and innovative take on the city-building genre, combining strategic urban management with the quirky and surprisingly engaging world of advertising. This game challenges players not only to grow their city but also to master the art of marketing and brand influence in a dynamic, ever-changing urban landscape. In AdvertCity, your goal is to build and manage a thriving city while balancing economic growth with strategic advertising campaigns. The unique twist lies in how ads influence your city’s districts and population behavior. You design and place ads that shape how citizens think, shop, and interact, turning your urban environment into a living, breathing marketplace. The game blends traditional city-building mechanics—like zoning, resource management, and infrastructure development—with a clever advertising system that adds layers of depth and challenge. Players must think creatively about where and when to place ads, manage public opinion, and adapt to shifting market trends. AdvertCity sports a clean, colorful aesthetic with a minimalist design that emphasizes clarity and usability. The UI is straightforward, making it easy to navigate comp…5 found this helpful

What is even going on and what am I even doing and why? The "tutorial" comprises of "move camera, take loan, select buildings and press advertise, congrats and good luck!".... what? Thankfully this "game" crashed relieving me of any more burden to try and figure out wtf was going on. I love me some simulation and management games.... this.... this is a big time pass. The developer would do well to add a real tutorial to this game. And yes, I even went on the steam guides to the "beginner guide" to tell me what was even going on. So sad.4 found this helpful
jogo bosta da porra nem o tutorial salva isso
The first thing that stands out is a nearly unreadable font. It's nice they add a choice to resize the font, but the choice of font sacrifices a lot in readability in order to give some sort of feel the creator wanted. The gameplay was just confusing as could be. I don't think the creator of the game managed to pull together a gameplay loop that would be easy to pick up. Instead of dealing with making choices, I found myself dealing with what I was supposed to be doing in the UI. I quickly lost willingness to continue trying to sort out how to actually play the game.
