About City Game Studio: Your Game Dev Adventure Begins
✦ AI summary
Build a video game empire from a tiny studio in 1976, hiring staff, creating games, negotiating with publishers, and expanding across the city to eventually dominate the market. Manage every detail from employee schedules to console licensing to competing studios in this deep sandbox management sim with multiple difficulty levels and dozens of hours of gameplay.

But a problem remains, even if your games are brilliant, you don't have enough fans to self-publish a big game to make your studio profitable. You will have to turn to video game editors who will carve out the lion's share. Chaining successes is the only way of getting rid of the publishers. Furthermore you will be able to publish your own publishing contracts. Then you will then be ready to dominate the market and buy back your competitors.

City Game Studio offers several levels of difficulty. From a leisurely stroll to a permanent challenge, you'll be able to find the difficulty that suits you best.
For those who want to explore the game in all its nooks and crannies, there's a sandbox mode. You control your gaming experience by setting up each new game.

City Game Studio is the outcome of several years' work by a single living being, well, a single human being. Except for the soundtrack, which was composed by a talented musician: Conciliator!

It's just Game Dev Tycoon with extra stuff that just bloats the game and makes it worse.2 found this helpful
I highly recommend City Game Studio! It's a fun and addictive game with deep management mechanics and a lot of freedom to build your own game development company. The gameplay is enjoyable, and it's clear that a lot of passion went into creating it. I would love to see even more content in future updates, such as new gameplay mechanics, additional events, more customization options, and extra features to keep the experience fresh. Another great addition would be official Arabic language support, which would make the game more accessible to many players in the Arab community. Until then, I've created an Arabic translation mod for anyone who wants to play in Arabic: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3762369776 Thank you to the developer for the continuous support and updates. Looking forward to what's coming next!1 found this helpful
Hooked on my first session. A fantastic blend of macro and micro management and the controls for steam deck are great! The tycoon mechanics are way more flushed out here and learning how the different staff worked was always a joy. Studio Director, my Beloved. This game does start out heavy on the micro then becomes an automators dream come true where you have 56 workhorse studios all pumping out slop that the masses love while you sit at home adding 1 new mechanic to an Open Source Engine and then the fans pay you Millions just cuz you did the community a solid. God I love this game. Historical mode was very fun and challenging! I absolutely loved failing and learning how to survive the video game crash of 83 and making it to the gameboy era and making ABSOLUTE BANK. A little buggy; some text gets cut off, very small font size on steam deck, light mode is always on, but otherwise pleasant experience. Maybe just runs a little better on steam os? The tutorial is very helpful and the level of difficulty customization is such a great thing; skip to a certain year to play around with modern hardware, expand the amount of rival companies, sandbox mode. This game is a wonderfu…

I have played Game Dev Tycoon and Software Inc, and I think this game meets the two in the middle perfectly. Where GDT is closer to a "playable gaming history" and Soft Inc is an expanded sandbox, this game takes the simplicity of GDT and adds the freedom of Soft Inc, making it truly enjoyable to play casually without having the training wheels that you get on GDT. And, most importantly, it's actively updated, which is a major plus for its price in my opinion, especially since I consider it already a fully fledged game, not the usual incomplete mess that needs updates to live. So, TL;DR? Game Dev Tycoon but improved, would recommend.
