slipped through a bleeding tear in the drywall at 3 AM while stoned looking for a snack but the entire inventory is from volatile, unholy chemical compounds and elements making everything completely inedible, i took one bite of a generic snack cake and my hair receded back into my body and all the cigarettes in my pocket smoked themselves, when I tried to pay the clerk said "oh youll pay alright, you'll all pay one day" as he tossed back all the change in the take-a-penny tray like a shot of whiskey, before i could back away he violently stapled a scratch-off lottery ticket to my forehead which actually won a free ticket that he immediately also stapled to my skull, the exit has collapsed into an event horizon and i now just live behind the magazine rack surviving on a diet of stale burned coffee and cigarettes, between a localized snail apocalypse and a family of bi-pedal reptilians who are chill and only sorta racist towards me, but its all good cause the cat who lives in the next isle over has decent weed so at least i found a new plug....

Aesop Rock's Black Hole Superette Experience is one of the strangest free games I have played, and I mean that in a very good way. I had no idea what to expect from a game built around a fictional convenience store, but I quickly found myself wandering around just to see what weird thing I would discover next. It feels less like a traditional game and more like stepping inside a bizarre interactive music video. The main gameplay is very simple. I walk around the store, search the shelves and different areas for hidden audio fragments, and interact with objects along the way. I liked how the game encourages me to actually look around rather than rushing toward a clearly marked objective. Finding another snippet feels rewarding because it gradually reveals more of the strange world hidden behind the ordinary looking store. The music is obviously a huge part of the experience, and I think the game uses it really well. The audio fragments let me experience the Black Hole Superette album while exploring, so the music and environment constantly feed into each other. The Preview is basically the whole "game." Fun concept, feel like it could have had some more interesting or weirdness added to it. Definitely a lot of time and art went into it, and what's there is cool, but nothing really grabbed me.
