About An Other Golf Game
An Other Golf Game is an open-ish world sandbox life sim with survival, permadeath, and, golf. You’ll have to figure out how to make money, navigate the world, and survive long enough to hit the course. There are no tutorials, and no hand-holding. When you die, you start over.
Expect to be confused about how to take clubs out of your bag once you put them in.
Expect to be frustrated that you can't hit a ball when you are not looking at it.
Expect to treat some aspects of the game as a puzzle.
Expect to not know where the save locations are.Expect to be bad at golf unless you make an effort to learn the mechanics and try to improve, there is a driving range after all.Expect to figure out how to find and complete odd jobs just to afford more clubs so you can eventually build a full set.Expect to shank it and subsequently wasting time looking for your ball in the tall grass.Expect stupid high medical bills, welcome to the US.Expect having to figure out how far you hit the ball and doing some basic math to determine which club is the right choice for the current situation.Expect the usual early access quirks like weird Unity physics, janky moments, and frustrating deaths.
Expect a unique, extremely challenging golf experience that takes a long time to master.
I encourage you to join the discord or post in the Steam forums if you have any questions or want some help. Like golf, this game is purposefully not easy and attempts to align more to what the real golf experience is truly like. If you have any questions, reach out, I am happy to push you in the right direction.

I really want to like this game but having peramadeath and no way to not kills it for me.1 found this helpful

This game brilliantly captures the essence of golf by highlighting the frustration of vaguely knowing what you have to do without knowing exactly how to do it. It took me three hours to even find the golf course (and nearly another hour before I could successfully hit a ball), and I died or gave up several times along the way. The entire time, it had the same feeling as learning to swing a golf club for the first time in real life. Infuriating, confusing, awkward, unintuitive, and punishing, but in the end extremely rewarding. This is my kind of game. I can't wait to come back and edit this review after I've made more progress.1 found this helpful
I bought this game on a whim after reading comments regarding games people like that are similar to My Summer Car. After just over 40 hours of play time I can say It was very much worth the money I paid for it. The golfing can be challenging, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite fun and realistic. Earning cash (via daily jobs) to buy all your golf clubs and accessories is enjoyable. I recommend buying a boombox from the local gas station and putting it on the rear shelf of the red cart (and loading in your own custom songs). Waxycaps is the most responsive and helpful developer I have ever dealt with (in the game's discord)! A recent update even added some things I requested! You can tell the developer really cares about his game and puts a lot of effort into it. I'm looking forward to all future updates. In particular rewards/incentives that promote playing daily/weekly golf. This game does have its quirks, but it also has great bones!1 found this helpful
As a real golfer. whose only addiction is golf. This is a lot of fun so far. Please don't stop updates with this game. It will get popularity. Would be fun to do youtube vids on. NOTE FOR DEV. shell out a little money and ask small or big golf youtuber's to promote the game. This game has huge potential. would love more ways to donate toward the game1 found this helpful
