About Anchor Club
Anchor is a form of creative writing of textual interaction of origin, where the author uses the function of dice to prepare options in which a random number determines the development of the story (the dice have a will of their own). And indeed, most authors will also have their own set of Anchor rules.
Anchor Club, relying on Steam's network and creative workshops, aims to provide a platform for anchor enthusiasts to create and share their own works, as well as to participate in the creation process of others' works.
Because of our hobby, we created the app "Anchor Club", and because of our hobby, we want to let more people know about Anchor, create and share here, so Anchor Club is free forever.
In Anchor Club, authors can create rooms and create online. We expect that one day there will be a moment when 250 people will come together to witness the birth of an Anchor piece.
Because this application is permanently free, if you want to support our studio, you can buy the DLC, so that we can have more motivation to improve this platform, thanks.
Any questions or suggestions:
Anchor Club is not trying to outlaw the forum, but more of a creative way to supplement it, where authors can create, then export the text and share it elsewhere.

Authors can upload their edited property cards, character cards, and scripts to Steam Creative Workshop
Viewers can exchange jokes in the built-in chat system.
Authors can initiate audience randomization (where the audience randomly selects options locally and passes them to the author, with the highest number of options being the final result) and audience voting (where the audience selects the results from existing options and passes them to the author, with the highest number of options being the final result)
Public notes (visible to everyone in the room) and private notes (visible only to the author), as well as each character having their own notes.

Anchor Club is a tool to write stories aided by RNG or Audience Voting when faced with branching decisions. Please note that this is a tool and not a game, and it was primarily designed for a Chinese Baidu group. The stories are called Scripts, and you can download Scripts from the workshop (although at time of writing most are in Chinese), or create your own. If you've ever read Choose Your Own Adventure books or played Single Player RPGs where the DM is RNG Dice Rolls, this is very similar. As the Anchor Club is now, it is nicer than similar tools I have stumbled on, and offers far more customisation. However the only tutorial is in Chinese so I've created a Guide in English that shows off the different tools available. You can read the guide in the game by subscribing to it here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2749256439&searchtext= I recommend experimenting with making a Script once you finish reading it, as it can be hard to explain features when you're not seeing them on the screen, but once you do I'm sure it will click!17 found this helpful
Before I played Anchor Club, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
1 found this helpful
This is less of a game and more of a collaborative fantasy writing/multiplayer RPG... the idea is that you join chat rooms (with nobody, nobody uses this) and collaboratively create stories with some elements of the text chosen by dice rolls. Now, at this point it's a great idea to ask the question, "Is that what we expect from a PC game in 2026?" and the answer is going to be "No." And that is why this failed. That and the monetisation... you have to pay money to use emojis. Paywalling is toxic, but developers have their greed to inflict on everyone. So, "Anchor Club" is a dead multiplayer game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every multiplayer exclusive game on Steam fails. Developers often assume just because they published their game, it's going to "go viral". I'm guessing this is a case of the developers making this game in complete isolation without even bothering to look at what other multiplayer games on Steam already offer. The market for multiplayer games is crowded and the player base is limited. This game never reached "critical mass", didn't "go viral", and didn't offer anything to differentiate itself enough. Even with no upfront c…
#tinygamereviews

could be a neat collaborative writing/roleplaying tool, but barely does anything more than a run-of-the-mill word processor nowadays

Overall Score: 1/5

Curator: Nostalginauts
