Citizens, shaken by his growing power, turned to religious leaders and scholars but no one could find a way to stop him. Some claimed Masum was the Antichrist, destined to disappear and return from Khorasan. Media reports amplified these rumors. Others believed he wasn’t the Antichrist, but a powerful magician whose abilities could be neutralized if he was captured.Unable to withstand public pressure and media outrage, the authorities eventually decided to eliminate him.A team was sent to raid his house but Masum had vanished without a trace. No body.
