About Antikiller
“Antikiller” is a fast-paced third-person shooter based on the novel and film of the same name.Because of the schemes of one of the city’s criminal kingpins, Shaman, former criminal investigator Major Korenev (nicknamed Fox) ends up in prison. But nothing lasts forever... Settling scores with Shaman and the colleagues who betrayed him was never part of Korenev’s plan after his release. However, faced with rampant lawlessness in the city and the death of his friends, the former major decides to restore order — in his own way, of course...The choice of which character to play is yours. You decide whether to pursue justice, uphold the harsh laws of the underworld, or simply kill everyone who stands in your way.
- The game ties into the film not only during gameplay — each level is introduced with cinematic cutscenes.
- Play as three main characters: Fox, Barkas, and Ambal
- New story details not shown in the film
- Photorealistic graphics and a strong link between the game’s and the film’s plots
- Modern graphics engine (dynamic lighting and shadows, advanced particle system, rigid-body physics, ragdoll, motion blur)

My recommendation for this game is strictly limited to research purposes only. It’s not bad. For being both a slavjank and a movie-based game, "Mafia Contract Killer: Antikiller" is actually decent! The controls feel surprisingly good and responsive. Shooting is pleasant, albeit bland. Enemies are visually distinct and feature various animations and behaviors that make them feel lively rather than just inanimate shooting-range targets. Levels are visually interesting and carry a certain retro-graphics charm. And if you know the playable characters can climb boxes, you might even avoid getting hopelessly stuck! As far as I understand, the story is told through clips cut straight from the movie. I assume the game follows the movie’s plot. I say “assume” because in my version the movie clip player was broken. Sometimes the clips played, sometimes not. Unfortunately, the game isn’t good enough to warrant fiddling with settings, trying to get highly compressed movie clips to run. Nor was I enticed enough to watch the 2002 Russian action movie it’s based on just to figure out what’s actually going on. Because even though the game is not bad, it’s not good either. Levels are si…12 found this helpful

Fine addition to my slav jank fetish collection. The thing I like about Slav Janks is that they often have a lot of potential for something greater than they manage, or rather struggle, to achieve. Those games often have a great concept, lots of fine ideas, but lack Polish (teehee). This one is based on a pretty fun(ny) Russian film, and runs on RenderWare. The latter is what made me think of "potential". Antikiller feels like a dumbed-down version of GTA3. Even those floating weapon icons that appear after killing the enemy are there. Love it. This game would absolutely slap if it were an open world, but it's just a series of small levels that expect you to "shut" (sic) bad guys. It's about 2 hours long and never overstays its welcome. Fun bite-sized shooter game. I'm going to recommend it to all my fellow slav jank enjoyers.10 found this helpful
I would say overall this is a game is like a 3/10. I am not sure why the cut scenes before missions are broken but upon further research it seems it was like that before this game was released on steam based on a PC gamer article I found. It is pretty lazy of the developer re releasing this on steam without that fixed along with the music being garbled & distorted (see my video below during the first mission) as hell and its pretty funny that for me when I started the game it was muted by default not sure why that wasn't fixed either. Going into the game itself I would say it is largely soulless since for me I just got dropped in first mission with no context really of what is going on since maybe the cut scene broke beforehand. In general the story is confusing overall since sometimes the cutscenes worked and sometimes they didn't but even when they did I still didn't know who was who or have that much context of what is going on or why were we here. The game also has some annoying wave based area levels where you just stand in a red box enduring wave after wave of enemy that aren't that much of threat at all. Movement isn't the best either but the game did have some cool vault…4 found this helpful
I think the developers might actually have brain damage because every level has an invincible man who can kill you with one shot from an AK47. Wtf? And the developers float volumetric fog inside every level for no reason so it just looks like stalker-DULL COLORS edition. And why would you make the pistol rate of fire that slow how is it even possible to be this stupid? In real life we can fire pistols full auto just by doing something funny with your finger. But computers arent fast enough? Game developers have been very stupid for a long time now. And it has nothing to do with decisions literally every old game has this horrible rate of fire on pistols2 found this helpful
Antikiller is a gritty, unapologetically old-school third-person action game that reflects both the ambitions and limitations of its era. Developed by Qbik Interactive and published by Strategy First, the game draws heavily from Russian crime fiction, placing players in a violent urban underworld defined by betrayal, gang warfare, and personal vengeance. Rather than attempting to modernize its mechanics or tone, Antikiller embraces a raw, sometimes abrasive identity that prioritizes atmosphere and narrative context over refinement, making it feel very much like a product of the early 2000s action genre. The story centers on Major Korenev, known as “Fox,” a former criminal investigator who is framed, imprisoned, and ultimately released into a city that has descended into chaos. Moscow is portrayed as a lawless battleground ruled by rival gangs and criminal elites, with corruption embedded deeply into every institution. Fox’s journey is driven by revenge against those who destroyed his life, but it gradually expands into a broader confrontation with the criminal hierarchy controlling the city. The narrative is blunt and grim, relying more on tone, setting, and circumstance than emot…1 found this helpful
