With its hyper-realistic sniping mechanics, bullet cam kills, and varied mission types from stealth to assault, Sniper: Ghost Warrior delivers an intensely demanding tactical experience.

When the democratic government of Isla Trueno is overthrown, an aggressive and hostile military command rises to power. An amazing sniping game with great environmental foilage. The missions can range from easy to extremely hard.

Need an online account to play, can't register, unplayable, abandon-ware still selling, borderline scam

Sniper: Ghost Warrior is one of those games I’d only recommend if you’re looking for that old-school late-2000s/early-2010s AA shooter experience. It was the first game in the series, and it definitely shows. The story is your typical 2010s military shooter plot—nothing terrible, but nothing you’ll remember once the credits roll. It mostly serves as an excuse to send you from one mission to the next. Sniping is enjoyable enough, but it’s very basic compared to what later games in the series would offer. The same goes for the gunplay, which is simple and exactly what you’d expect from a 2010 AA title. Stealth is almost nonexistent on the hardest difficulty because enemies spot you way too easily, making it difficult to actually play like a sniper. The AI is also strange—it can be incredibly dumb one moment and somehow know exactly where you are the next. Graphics are okay for their time, and the atmosphere is actually pretty enjoyable. I liked the tropical setting since it gave the game a different feel from the usual military shooters of that era. Mission design is also very straightforward and never really does anything special. I didn’t run into any major bugs or g…

Every aspect of this game sucks. Yes, everything. The only bits that are even decent are the handful of missions you get to properly play as a sniper, trying to be all stealthy with a suppressed rifle. Those are a solid 6/10. Most of the sniper missions have you playing like a COD quickscope kid trying to put together a kill comp to try and get into faze clan, and that makes up the better half of the game. The worst parts by far are the missions where you're handed the most inaccurate automatic weapons I've ever seen in a game, with ridiculous recoil, and are told to simply fight your way through. I had more luck charging the enemy and hipfiring than trying to aim. Overall, this game gets a 2/10. I was very surprised at how bad it truly is since Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 was pretty rough in places but still fun, and the gap in quality is unfathomable. This game makes its first sequel look like a masterpiece. Shoutout to the gamestop employee who straight up told me it sucked and I should put it back on the shelf when it was new 16 years ago. That $40 price tag was a lot of money for a teenager. I don't regret the $1.50 or so I spent to get it on steam though, mostly because of how…

Played this way back on the xbox 360, safe to say it doesn't hold up. Never seen gunplay so bad, also the settings have to be changed manually.

I really enjoyed the sneaking through the jungle in the dense foliage to snipe some targets. It has none sniper bits with inaccurate machine guns but I ran up to the enemy and blasted them point blank, I was in easy mode though. I'll take a break from it now and possibly come back to it and play on a harder difficulty when I get some jungle fever that needs a cure. It says released in 2010 but it seems older than that like its a really well made older game.
