KEY FEATURES:
Three long years of war.
... A young man filled with spite and resentment.
A young woman with nothing left to live for.
A father that can't bear to look at himself...
Just as the soldiers of the Republic of Arakasha continue to be sent to their deaths, the common people continue to starve. You assume the role of Alexander Volkov, the calculating son of a former Lieutenant who is determined to survive in any way he can. The republic's three-year war against the neighboring Kingdom Of Leiden has pushed the country to its absolute breaking point- and in its final months, Alexander grapples not only with his harsh work but also his decaying mental state.
Use diplomacy and economics to build a profitable farm, maintain your relationship with enemies and allies alike- and above all else come out on top.

The game is divided into three phases:
DAY:
Build an automated farm in order to sell crops and make as much profit as possible before sunset. Here you can build machines, complete trades, and research new technologies.
NIGHT:
Navigate through a visual novel style interaction with a random character. The game currently features many different interactions with multiple routes and ways to complete them.
MORNING:
Gather intel to use in the coming day and night. Read the news about the state of the war, look at stock prices, and read the mail.

ArmaCulture is now fully complete. It was made with the Unity 2D engine, Aseprite, Adobe Photoshop, and FL studio entirely by me.

I like horrifying and tense stories, and I like the automation genre. Yet I cannot remember the last time I had a more infuriating experience with any game, period. I took notes, but I'm writing this review late, because at the time, I was overcome with anger. Before anything, to address one technical question: - Do four buttons (LMB, Space, Enter, Numpad Enter) forward text? No, only the first two. Onto the review. The game is confusing and there's no tutorial. The closest thing to a tutorial is two texts describing two buttons, and nothing else. Confusing how? You have a farm, which is very much yours, yet you must buy land. Why? The goal is unclear. Story-wise, the goal is to survive, but in the game, you start with money (so you don't necessarily need it with any degree of immediacy), and there's an entire farm/factory mode that's associated with the abundance-based design of ShapeZ or Factorio. It seems like you should complete requests and get currency, but how...? You have access to a slew of manual and automatic verbs/entities — from your hand to a hoe to conveyors and electrics — but it isn't clear How or even IF any of them are useful at this early stage…2 found this helpful
Great Game. hate that i had to send an old man to the gulag for an achievement but still great1 found this helpful
It's actually a really good game but man, it's a straight opposite to what'd I find fun as a game. The art style is nice, music is okay, story and setting is cool and all but the actual meat and potatoes of the game is kinda lacking. The gameplay, or to be exact, the awful and messy controls just take the whole experience down for me. You see, you have a farm to automate via putting buildings in the slots and optimizing them. But as I mentioned, the control scheme is complicated for no reason and it takes a real good while for you to actually understand it and start building the contraptions. This wouldn't be so bad by itself, but there's the elephant in the room we forgot to mention. You have a time limit each day, exactly like papers please, with no option to pause or slow down. Oh my dear god, it's just pure misery trying to fight your way through the stupid controls to build the simplest of automation lines. It just didn't clicked for me, I want games to give me time to tinker with the mechanics and understand the game. So I can assess the situation and act accordingly and plan ahead. When I'm on a time limit with an unintuitive control system, I don't really have fun but just …
good game
This game touched me, in a good way. Then taxes touched me, in a bad way.
Harsh story on the indifference of war, and the gameplay sure reflects on it.
