Atuel

A relaxing and visually pretty piece of edutainment. You get to take on the form of a fish, a bird, a fox... the river itself, and there's even a section where you're a raincloud. It's like playing a mini-documentary more or less, and you can do it at whatever pace you want. If this looks at all interesting to you at all, and you have 20-30 minutes, give this one a go, it was actually pretty neat.

A short and beautiful experience. Chronicling the history, and possible future, of the Atuel river. Playing as the river, the rain, a fox, fish, and birds, you drift along, taking in the sights, more than just visually. You don't really do anything other than move forward, (except one area where you put out a fire.) and you do it at a slow pace. making it very relaxing. As you drift along, you hear from various experts about the history and impact of the river, making it surprisingly informative...but not in an obnoxious immersion-breaking way, it only adds to the experience. A serene 30min playthrough that's absolutely worth it.

I don't even remember how I came across this little piece of software. I however remember occassions in my life where I walked into museums or science exhibits and wondered why nobody told me I'd just walked into a portal to another world. This short, interactive exhibit belongs in a science museum. It's beautiful, just engaging enough to keep you interested and curious. You want to see where the river brings you, where the fish swims and the cloud decides to spread the water it has accrued. This is beautiful, and absolutely worth the 25ish minutes one spends in it. It gives one time to contemplate life and existence. Not just your own, but that of a (potentially) far away place on Earth.
