Relaxing and beautiful. This game is exactly what it says it is, and if that sounds good to you then you should buy it. It's a simple game with a lot of care given to each of its parts. It's a visuals-focused experience which really does succeed in transporting you to serene, expressive locations that are a joy to explore and photograph. The basic structure consists of visiting an islands, taking pictures, and then returning to your boat and choosing the coordinates for a new island. I really enjoyed the idea of using longitude and latitude coordinates for island seeds, and the nautical interface for it is a great touch. You can also save ("remember") islands, which you can then easily re-enter from the main menu. By default, only the last photo you take on each island before leaving is saved, which forces you to be thoughtful and deliberate. However, there is an option to save as many pictures as you want, and I preferred this because often I would get that awesome picture but want to keep exploring and taking more pictures before leaving the island. This game is quick fun, and will totally scratch your itch for screenshot taking and photography. The randomisation makes for great combinations and makes it a wonderful walking simulator as well. From weird architecture to strange vegetation along with different weathers and color combinations, you'll never run out of inspiring visuals!2 found this helpful
a very comforting game where you just take pretty pictures1 found this helpful
Super fun! I have done nothing but spend the past few hours de-stressing and slowly filling up my laptops memory with endless photos. I swear I have only had this game for 3/4 hours and I already have around 500 photos. I got my friend wrapped into it too as they gave me numbers of islands to go to and we slowly found more things together. It is fairly minimal but the style is cohesive and the colours are stunning. Making it very easy to find many beautiful things to photograph big and small. If you are looking for just a nice peaceful game to walk about in or imagine you are some adventurer in an alien land simply documenting small bits of land this game is great. I got it on a whim and have no regrets.1 found this helpful
Looks nice and is cozy. You stroll around from island to island and everytime something catches your eyes you want to take a picture of.
I've put tons more hours on Shutter Stroll when I got it from itch.io, and it's great more folks know about it now! Plays wonderfully on the Steam Deck and is always a relaxing time. Really fun to pick up and wander around when you need to de-stress.
