In the game you play Heather Quinn (aka Athena) a colleague of Ross Baker (aka Bedlam). Heather is an overworked and underpaid scientist developing medical technology for corporate giant Neurosphere. One rainy Monday morning Heather volunteers as a test candidate for the new Neurosphere brain scanning tech - anything to get out of the office for a few hours.
But when she gets out of the scanner she discovers she's not only escaped the office, but possibly escaped real life for good! Heather finds herself trapped in Starfire - the violent sci-fi game she spent her teenage years playing - with no explanation, no backup and, most terrifyingly, no way out!

Trapped in a place where every demon ever conjured by the human mind can be made flesh. Cut off from the real world, unable to see your family or friends ever again. Stuck in an endless state of war and chaos where the pain and fear feels real and from which not even death can offer an escape.

This felt like a my first hey this engine has a level editor? I'm 12 and I'm going to make something feel to it. Bad mechanics, no fun in gameplay, shooting sucks, the weapons feel bad like crosseyed peashooters, story is mediocre, bugs like you clip trough some objects/walls, your weapons hit invisible walls and wont'go trough any texture (like bars) and the enemy can shoot/clip trough almost everything.. just go play a walking simulator, any of them. Even in 2015 this was bad. Hope the dev did better in the meantime or just stopped making games. Not available on the steam store anymore, but didn't keep me from writing this.

The warning came too late. I played Bedlam on stream and while we all appreciated the Scottish voice actress, everything else was a slog and I got sleepy and zzzzzzzzzz
I remember this game fondly. I found it quite interesting.
The game was unique, a bit of nostalgia, some pop culture references and gamer inside jokes. It is well done. Save often, especially in the final stage. The ending is left for interpretation or a sequel. Worth a play but go play your top of the list type games first.
