LEMURIA (2022)

Artisanal jank. TTS voices, mediocre shooting. The gameplay is such that it is not polished, but does not stop you from enjoying this like a B-movie. You go to a hospital and the orderlies are rioting and shooting up the place, so you massacre them. Then some lady shows up wanting sex and then leaves again, and you go up to the third floor of the hospital which is just zombies. Later you rescue a woman from torture in fake-Afghanistan and you help treat her cuts by dunking entire bottles of booze all over her body while you wait for a cruise missile to hit a building you just marked. Later still, you hide out from pursuers in a club by manning the DJ booth. Women get naked at the drop of a hat (which improves their stealth). Men are incapable of taking off more than their tops. Just alien logic all throughout, but pretty varied as long as you turn down combat section length (50% max, I'd recommend). The funniest thing is that the plot is building up to both protagonists going to the country of Lemuria in Africa where the *actual* plot is going to happen, and then you get to the end of episode 1 with a promise of episode 2 coming, and nobody's set foot in Lemuria yet. Get this + DLC if you're into obscure indie games or things like Samurai Cop, nudity and the whole "so bad it's good" trope, otherwise hell no. Pros: + It sure has soul and captures the schlocky B (or C?) movie feel it aims for Cons: - Gameplay is broken to the point of being almost unplayable - The UI is a horrible mess - Characters move like 18th century automatons - The story is a sequence of WTF dialogues obviously outlined in the developer's native language and then translated word for word into english and spoken by monochordic AI voices, yielding some hilarious and mind boggling moments.

It's a strange game. If you like cheesy games, you may like this one. It's like a C class movie. Goofy characters, situations, bad plot, bad dialogs, soulless AI voices, mediocre gameplay. The scenery has poor assets, poor textures. But above all, the game takes it seriously, like some bad performer that take his job like he's really doing well his part. There's even a demo, so you can see what's the game is all about, no surprises there. And still, I enjoyed the time spent. To be honest, there are so many better games than deserve more attention than this one, for every aspect of this game has, but I wanted to tell you what was my experience.

I'm sorry, I wanted to love this game, but I couldn't. It's too broken, even though it has a fun plot and some interesting ideas. The movement is very janky and uncomfortable, it ruins absolutely everything. Arenas with enemies are only annoying. The stealth level is simply terrifying. The game consumes too many pc resources for pretty simple graphics. I really liked the Chinatown level and the mini-game where you act as a DJ. The shooting feels tolerable, but the melee is just terrible. PS: [strike] I also couldn't complete the "Fantasy Chapter DLC" because the heroine doesn't dance when it's necessary to complete the main quest. I tried all the buttons, but the result is zero. Quite possibly the worse, buggiest controls I have ever experienced in a game.

It's OKAY. not the greatest and talk is very robotic. Never finished it. Became annoying and wouldn't savre where I was last at.
