Before I Come In is a short story focused game that mixes a visual novel with a simple block breaking mini game. I go through two different stories, with the first following Dennis as he deals with relationships, personal growth and figuring himself out, while the second is based on the real life story of Tyler Clementi. I think the idea is more interesting than I expected because the game is not just about reading dialogue. The choices I make affect the story and the character stats, and those stats also have an effect on the little block breaking sections. The Dennis story is the part that feels more like a traditional interactive story to me. I make choices during conversations and collect six symbolic gems that help me progress. I like having the gems tied into the story because they give the otherwise simple visual novel structure something extra to work towards. The choices also give me a reason to replay parts of the story and see how different decisions can change what happens. It is not a massive branching RPG, but there is enough choice here to make me pay attention rather than simply clicking through every conversation. The block breaking sections are a strange additio…

Scam. I have nothing against AI if it's free-to-play ; that's why I DLed the game. But apparently, only chapter 1 is free. Out of curiosity, I wanted to see how much chapter 2 was sold for : there is NO chapter 2 ! When you click on the link, it adds an unrelated game (chinese racing game ?) to your cart for 2,99€. Total scam ! And it's not like they've put much effort in the game anyway. The story is vanilla, the artstyle changes all the time, the voice acting is bland... Nothing good here...
