Behind Glass: Aquarium Simulator

Love the game so far! Wish we could add shrimp and snails. I love the freedom I have designing the tank, I could spend hours playing. So many ideas, I will recreate my IRL tank.

I am just enjoying it as a aquarium display, very realistic animations and sounds. I set my aquarium size to match my monitor dimentions and run it as wall art. There is a simulator in the game, and found it matched real requirements of the fish. I have no interest in that though, It looked complete, but maintaining water quality, temps and cleaning tank are why I no longer have a real aquarium. Don't want to do that. Good news, you can turn it all off. And just put the fish, plants and other decoration in the tank and let it run. I did like the cross-breeder, but sometimes I just would have liked some alt skins for some of the heavily hybrid species, like guppies, bettas and angelfish.

Back in the day, I fell in love with Maxis' El Fish. Since then, I have been seeking the next best iteration. This led to the purchase of many aquarium screen savers and fishing games. At last my quest is complete in 4k glory! It looks terrific, plays smooth, and just keeps getting better. It works as a creative toy to chill to as well as a way to see what taking care of exotic fish would be like without mess, disaster and mass death. My wife loves it more than I do. I Whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful product! Also, I run Linux Mint with zero issues.

This game is impressively realistic. It can be as simple or as complicated as you'd like. Swapping between a creative mode, and simulation mode seamlessly. I've been using this to learn how to properly cycle my own aquarium. I also thoroughly enjoy the breeding mode. You can make the fish look as insane, or beautiful as you want. The only downside is controller support is limited, but not awful. I play this on my steamdeck from time to time. It runs well enough, but the controls can be frustrating at times. If you're a fish enthusiast like me, I cant recommend this enough.
