Bleeding Roots

It's a short retro-style horror game where you mostly walk around, interact with things, and slowly figure out what's going on. The PS1/PS2-style visuals and gloomy atmosphere are decent, but the game feels pretty generic. I could see where things were heading well before the ending, so there wasn't much of a surprise. The biggest issue for me is the lack of tension. It feels like the game is building toward a conclusion you already know is coming, rather than giving you much reason to be invested in getting there. It's free and only takes around 15 minutes, so it's an easy one to try, but I wouldn't go in expecting much.

A very short, but enjoyable game. It's basically a walking sim with no scares, but the story and writing are very well done, especially the final sequence. It's free, so it's definitely worth experiencing yourself.
